I noticed that this column didn’t export for variations. Before making a possible mess, I want to know if I can add that column for variations. I think most of my products are correctly set, but I don’t fancy checking 1300 variations.

Also, is there a reason I couldn’t have done this from the included CSV import/export process? i.e. why was the extension needed?

Thanks for the reply. I’m not asking how to set the quantity of each variant (I can and do use CSVs a lot). What I want to do is set up my variant products correctly without going into each (hundreds) and selecting the correct settings.

Since the method shown wasn’t correct, can I do this via CSV import too? If so, what settings should I have (in the spreadsheet) for the variable products?

Thanks. I understand what you’re saying, but it would be great if WC gave you the option. Obviously, I’m not the only one with the issue since the workarounds are there.

I noticed. Not only is the front end displaying fine, but I have had several orders including variable products. They came through as normal.

I just tried adding a new product to test. When I clicked on ‘simple product’ to change it to ‘variable’, all the tabs were back. Click again and they are gone. They seem to toggle on and off as I click. In any case, now I have them on this test product I also have them on the others. Vice versa, when I don’t have them on one product I don’t have them on any.

So, there doesn’t seem to be a problem, as such, now.

So you’re saying the warning is telling me that I need to update the existing products’ prices to include tax because this option won’t do it for me? Not that the warning means the option won’t apply to existing products.

If that’s the case, I have already updated my products, so the problem must be caused by something different.

It might concern how WC displays prices on the order page. Prices here are displayed excluding tax (with another column for tax amount). I don’t know if this can be changed, but it seems silly if not. Having my prices set to include tax, but WC takes the tax off again on this page. Why? It makes refunding shipping take longer, too, so if I can change it, I’d love it.

No. I have made changes recently, but I didn’t make any changes when the problem occurred. I was using variable products in the back end the day before this happened (after I had made a few changes).

As I said above, I have updated all my products since this issue. Nothing has changed.

If the note ‘Changing it will not update existing products’ is correct, it would only apply to new products. So updating prices etc. via CSV shouldn’t have an effect. Unless it’s perhaps written wrong. I don’t understand the reason for that feature if it is as worded. I thought updating the products may work.

The problem is not with the plugin (it’s working for thousands of others). Unless their support is telling me lies. But they’ve been very helpful thus far.

WC must use that ex-tax figure in some ways because the orders show up ex-tax (which is also annoying). If that can be changed, maybe that will resolve this problem.

Thanks for the reply. Indeed, I didn’t think I could do this, but found the edit button on the address field today. So I can do what you suggested. However, it’s not what I wanted.

I have thousands of customer’s details in my database from previous orders, but they are all guests (not registered users), so I can’t add their details to a new order other than doing it totally manually each time.

If they were registered users, it would be easy. I don’t understand why I can’t do the same for any user since the data is all there for me to see.

It looks like what I want to change is not editable without a plugin.

I wonder why WC bothers to have an email edit feature without enabling us to edit most of the email?

I know how to edit the WC emails, as in the article you provided. I’ve read that before too. The problem is, this email isn’t there. None of the wording of this email was written by me. It’s got WC order information in it, but the text is wrong.

I looked at WooCommerce > Settings > Payments. I might be able to add wording to the bottom of this email, I don’t need to add information. I want to reword the entire email.

I meant that snipboard.io didn’t work. It gave an error when I tried to paste. However, I have found a workaround. Not being able to attach files here is incredibly annoying.

My problem with the email is it’s in plural first person, which isn’t right for me. I have been able to fix the heading and add text to the bottom (red circled). But I want to change the text with the green arrow.
