Well changing file permissions in cpanel is painful.

All directories were & are 755, most of the files were 644 except all the files in /blog , like wp-config.php etc,etc were 755, I’ve changed it so all files are 644 & dir’s are 755, still no joy tho’

Hi Podz, can’t change the theme as the admin pages don’t load (https://www.linickx.com/blog/wp-admin). Is there a way to do if from within the DB ?

Hum, must be a firefox/i.e. difference, ?? I’ve set custom 404 pages on the server if you go to a page that doesn’t exist (e.g https://www.linickx.com/blah ) – In firefox I get a blank page or “page contains no data” .

Re: mod_security, I guess you mean that the default install of WP doesn’t use any of those then. ??

I’ve tried beating the isp with a stick, but they can’t help, infact after a week of e-mails I think I’m loosing the battle.

I’ve still got 6months on my ISP contract, so I’d like to keep changing host as a last resort, can anyone thing of a way to generate some errors, that way I could at least post a more meaningful subject.

Are there any defaults (in ini’s or whatever) that need to be set/changed to support WP ?

I was checking https://neoflox.net/ – Which means the screenshot is good news & bad news, bad:- spent too much time trying get my site online & lost the ability to read properly, good:- wp & 4.4.0 must work ? – I think I should get some rest & try and contact him though his site in the AM ??

yeah, I found that suggestion whilst searching, A new install does the same thing, but obviously I don’t know if the new install would ever work.

It’s comming to me installing a linux box with cpanel on it & seeing if that works or if it’s something the hosting company has done !
