Sorry about the link color… I’ll work on it.

I’m sure that doing what you suggest would change the way the page LOOKS, but there is no way to edit the content. Comments made on the page are edit-able from within the admin screen, but the pages themselves are no where to be found within the page structure. There is no way to edit content, edit catagory (and the page doesn’t inheret the parent post’s catagory) or edit anything else you can normally edit for a page.

No one? Am I imagining this entire page creation thing? This thing seems like it should have me documented in the Codex, but I don’t see it mentioned anywhere.

    Thank you for the links!

I’m not sure if this is the right thread, but it’s the closest…

I upgraded from 1.5 (I think) to 2.0. I don’t have a problem with the install per se, but on my front page, I had a post marked private, and before, it didn’t show up at all. After the upgrade – same theme, plugins, everything – it showed up for all and sundry to see. Currently I have it password protected so that no one can read it, but it’s still marked private.

Can anyone tell me why I might be having this problem, and what I can to to rectify it? I hate password protecting posts, because odds are later down the road I’ll forget the password.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.. I tried searching for my problem first, but apparently “search” doesn’t work for me.

However, the only solution I see on the other thread is to do a compleate re-instalation of WordPress. How could activating, then deactivating (and deleting) a plugin change the core code to that end? Is there somewhere else I can check within the code to be sure it is pointing to the right direction?

I get lost easily within PhP (not my native language, not that it matters these days), and I don’t want to go through and change anything that will screw things up.

Okay, after searching around in the forums and the Wiki, I stumbled upon the explanation of the “post meta data”:
    http//wiki.www.ads-software.com/PostMeta
Can this be used to create a “hidden” category? If I gave a couple of posts the same meta data, would there be a way to use the meta data to create page on the fly with all the posts on it?
If it can be done (I still don’t know to much about meta data or PhP), can someone point me in the right direction? Or is there maybe a plugin somewhere that can do this? If not, could someone help me create a plugin?

    Sorry, I hadn’t regestered yet!
