Many thanks Peter, will upgrade in the next week or so and see how it goes.
Cheers,
livThanks Peter, do you know if Twenty Eleven theme will be ok with the upgrade as well? A couple of web people have suggested to me we may lose elements of Twenty Eleven…which elements, they’re not sure.
Hopefully this is just a rumour and an upgrade to 3.4.1 is successful.
I assume it is still recommended to carry out these items at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Hardening_WordPress on the latest version?
Hi Peter,
We have WordPress 3.2.1 with Twenty Eleven theme recently installed. Our site was hacked last week via FTP and rewriting the .htaccess file. SIte had been uncompromised prior to this running 3.2.1 for approx a year.
It has been suggested we need to upgrade our site to the latest version 3.4 however I’m worried we will lose our All in One SEO Pack configuration. Do you know if we would lose it upon upgrade?
Many thanks,

In reply to: TimThumb Hack (was WordPress 3.2.1 vanilla is FAR from secure…)We have been using WordPress 3.2.1 for about a year now and all was well, until we recently changed our theme to Twenty ELeven. This combination makes it easy for hackers to install a trojan on our .htaccess file. They did it via FTP server. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to secure our site in addition to the below? Our hoster advised to upgrade the WP version but if we do that I am worried we will lose All in One SEO Pack and its configuration. Has anyone had any experience upgrading to latest version and keeping All in One SEO Pack stable?
Our web hosting company suggested the following: change htaccess file to .txt, change all passwords (especially FTP server password), change default ‘admin’ in wordpress, disallow Directory Browsing, Secure wp-config.php, prevent script injection….and upgrading the version of WP to latest version.
Hope with experience of 3.2.1 hack can assist here.
Thanks,

In reply to: update to 3.4.1Hi Luise,
Did you have All in One SEO Pack installed on 3.2.1? Did you lose that plugin or its functionality upon upgrading ever so briefly to 3.4.1?I want to upgrade to latest version as our site got hacked last week on 3.2.1 however I am worried we may lose our SEO efforts and usage of All in One SEO Pack. Do you have any advice on this?
Rgds,
