@anita and @brian: I update whatever my dashboard tells me to update! I don’t see anything about needing to update Genesis. The page states that my themes and plugins are all up to date.

I still need to update to 4.6, but to be honest, I’m hesitant to do so.

@tara, thank you. Somehow things were reset through Bluehost and I now have full access to my dashboard.

@samuel, yes, I will need to update to 4.6. Hopefully it will work without a problem. Fingers crossed.

I went ahead and clicked to restore the core files through Bluehost AND IT WORKED. I now have access to my dashboard!

@kmessinger – got it, signed in. There’s a message “Hey! One or more of your WordPress core files have been modified. This could mean that your site has been hacked! Click here to learn more. If you are not sure what this means or you did not knowingly change any of the core files yourself, you may want to reset your core files to their original versions.” Should I click to restore core files?

Tara- I downloaded a WordPress .zip file. The first step reads
“Unzip the package in an empty directory and upload everything.”
What’s an empty directory? This is all greek to me! I need to hire a nerd to fix this because I am totally clueless.

How do I back up my data base if I cannot access my dashboard? I recently paid for back ups, so I assume they were being done automatically.
