In reply to: Blog Page (not Home Page) Is Misbehaving BadlyThanks for the suggestion. A forum search turned up other users experiencing the same thing with that theme. I really like the theme, so I hope I’ll get a solution.

In reply to: How to Get Child Pages Listed Under ParentThanks. There seems to be no link associated with “this document.”
I found how to drag the child pages to the parent in the Menu setup. However, in the displayed menu the children are listed below the parent and indented. If possible, I would like them not to show up until the mouse cursor is hovered over the parent entry.
I’m currently using the simplecorp theme at https://readingforbrightminds.com/
The menu is question is in a sidebar widget.

Thanks! Starting with your suggestion, I was able to identify the “Are You a Humsn?” plugin as the culprit. I just wanted to use that plugin for post comments. I’ll delete it for now and use G.A.S.P. instead.

I’ve updated, and the logged-in layout is better than my kludge. I prefer the centered line.

In reply to: [Async Social Sharing] [Plugin: Async Social Sharing] Pinterest? Thanks for taking a look at it, Rachel. I’ve noticed that almost none of the social plugins include Pinterest, and now I know why.

In reply to: [Async Social Sharing] [Plugin: Async Social Sharing] Pinterest?Yes, KWentin, I’ve seen that function, but it was in the “Pin It” bookmark I have in my bookmark toolbar. I see the code for that is:
javascript:void((function(){var%20e=document.createElement(‘script’);e.setAttribute(‘type’,’text/javascript’);e.setAttribute(‘charset’,’UTF-8′);e.setAttribute(‘src’,’https://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinmarklet.js?r=’+Math.random()*99999999);document.body.appendChild(e)})());Just in case Rachel wants to try to add it. ??

In reply to: Help for Some Path Theme FeaturesThanks again, Sami! I don’t understand everything, but you’ve given me plenty to think about.

I encourage you to join https://themehybrid.com
Of course, you’re right. Unfortunately, I’m using Path for a pro bono site, and I can’t afford to join when I’m not making any money myself. Maybe later if I get a paying gig.

In reply to: Help for Some Path Theme FeaturesWhen you edit Page, there is Page Attribute metabox on the right. There you can choose Page Template.
Thank you, I see those are listed as you say. However, I’m not clear how you would use them.
For example, I created an “Authors” page with the Author template. I listed three authors in the text area. The page as displayed doesn’t look any different from a page done with the Default template. Am I doing something wrong… or missing the whole point?
When you edit Post, there is Publish metabox on the right. Click Visibility >> Edit and check Stick this post to the front page.
The effect of this is very obvious… and very nice. I see that multiple sticky posts produce a series for the slider.
I think I figured out that it’s the “featured image” that shows up in the picture space of the slider. Where are the dimensions of the image set? A quick measurement was something like 613×278, but I would like to be able to tweak that.
Where is the time delay set for switching the slider?
Lane
OK, thanks for the help.

I figured it out for myself. It was probably overkill, but I searched all the files for “byline,” deleted the code snippet that contained it, and then saved the files to path-child.
To get rid of the comment stuff, I took everything out of comment.php except the first and last lines. I saved the file to path-child.

Thanks for the suggestion!
Changing the data-layout value from button_count to standard got rid of the count, but it substituted “Be the first of your friends to like this,” which isn’t very good, either. Here’s the page where you can see this:
https://www.clarkesvillewritingsociety.org/long-europe-south-africa/Does Facebook offer anything other than button_count and standard?
Lane
Thanks, Sami, I see that now. I appreciate the simplicity of this social plugin. Some are just too bloated.
I notice in the screenshot that came with the plugin package that the Facebook =count= is not showing. I would like it NOT to show on my sites, but it does show there and at the demo site. Is there a way to make that change?
