Here’s a link to the phpinfo ( ) as a pdf. I tried to remove all the possible dox data, but I can’t be sure I got it all. I’ll delete the file and remove the link when I know you have it.

I’ve double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, checked, rechecked, gone back months later and done it all again. mod_rewrite is absolutely enabled. It’s in my /etc/apache2/mods-available, the symlink is in /etc/apache2/mods-enabled. .htaccess contains the following code:

/usr/lib/apache2/modules contains mod_rewrite.so, so that’s there as well. phpinfo ( ) also lists it, as follows.

I’ve also tried AllowOverride All, just to be sure that wasn’t the issue. It made no difference.

There is something screwed up with my base WP install that I have been unable to figure out. I get permissions errors in a number of plugins when I attempt to change settings, even with PHP 7.4. I’m wondering if this is related.

Turned out that various other plugins broke under PHP 8, so I have reverted to PHP 7.4. Onward and upward…

Nevermind, you can ignore this post. I thought the user roles displayed in the GD Topic Polls settings were not the bbpress roles, but they are.

I updated to the latest version of WordPress again, version 5.8.1, and experienced the same issue.

It works fine on WordPress 5.7.x and previous. So presumably it’s something that is broken by changes to 5.8. Furthermore, none of the other plugins I use break when I upgrade to version 5.8. So one would assume that this is an issue with GD Topic Polls.

I will see if there have been recent updates to those three plugins that fix the issue, and I will report back.
