The WordPress plugin appears to have worked.

I am close to an absolute newbie with WordPress.
So please excuse me for not comprehending what to do with the material in the links cited above.
I seek to transfer everything from a WordPress site to new WordPress site. The new site is starting from scratch … it is out of the box brand new.
Please allow me to ask a related question.
? In the source www.ads-software.com website, near the bottom of the dashboard, there is an item called “Tools” that allows one to export “all of your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, terms, navigation menus and custom posts.” The result is an xml file.
? It further states:
? “Once you’ve saved the download file, you can use the Import function in another WordPress installation to import the content from this site.”
? I now have this file and would like to have all of the posts, pages, . . . appear on another WordPress installation. However, the new installation has a different URL.
? Looking in the downloaded file in the Brackets editor, I notice there are permalinks pointing to the source file URL. There are not a lot of these permalinks.
? Questions:
? If I import the xml file into another WordPress installation with a different URL, will the permalinks be changed appropriately?
? If not, may I manually change the permalinks to point to the new URL and then import the file into another WordPress installation?
? If all that need be done is to change the permalinks, is there a way to do this with Search and Replace?
