In reply to: Unable to add new userThanks for your response. The new user did not appear in the wp_users table. I did however disable all plugins and was then able to add the new user. I haven’t got the time now to activate them one at a time and test adding a new user to find the culprit (27 plugins). I’m just pleased to have been able to add the new user and move on. Thanks.

In reply to: Unable to add new userAplogies, I forgot to add that as Administrator each time I try to add the new user I receive an e-mail saying:
New user registration on your site :
Username:
Email:
As you see both the Username and email are blank!

In reply to: [wpForo Forum] Registration failureThank you for the very prompt reply. And my apologies for being stupid enough to have to ask the question! The new-user-approve plugin must have been installed ages ago and I’d forgotten it’s existence. Even as I looked at it I thought it was part of wpForo. This is only day one of using your plugin and I’m very impressed with it.
I’ve just done an import selecting the group to which the csv list was added. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked as I hoped. Some of the e-mail addresses in the imported list were already in another group and were not imported.
Let’s say I’ve got 3 groups – Trains, Boats and Planes. In each group some subscribers may only want to receive e-mail about the one subject, others may want to receive e-mail about other groups as well. Therefore an e-mail address may be need to be duplicated in a second or third group.
I really appreciate what you did in adding the new facility. Am I asking too much if I wish for an ‘Ignore Duplicates’ option?
Kind Regards
Perfect!
Many thanks.

In reply to: RSS feed errorDeactivated all plugins and still the same.
However, I have cured the problem and post the cure here in case someone else has the same problem in the future.
\wp-includes\feed-rss2.php had the following line in it:-
<language><?php echo get_option(‘rss_language’); ?></language>
I changed the line to:-
<language>en-GB</language>
The feed now validates! It could also have been changed to en-US should that have been applicable.
I don’t understand php but it looks like (only a guess) that the original line was to take the RSS language from some place where it had been set as an option. I couldn’t find anywhere where there was an option to set the RSS language. If that’s true then surely this is a WordPress 3.0.1 fault since the fault is in \wp-includes\feed-rss2.php?

In reply to: RSS feed errorThanks, Samuel.
The link confirms that my feed does not validate and confirms that it’s the language tag which is wrong. Question is how do I fix it? If WordPress generates the rss feed is it a fault with WordPress? Or, is it a setting I’ve not made correctly?
