In reply to: Sidebar widget that lists excerpts of recent postsI had a similar need, and I think esmi’s suggestion is the answer, at least if just displaying the post title & excerpt are sufficient. If shelzmike really needs the post date, a solution might be to start the post title with the date. Although this will be redundant of the date field, which is probably being displayed separately in the post.
This almost meets my need, but rather than show Recent Posts, I’d like to be able to manually select the posts and call them Feature Posts. Does anyone know a way to do this? Might need to be hard coded, which I don’t mind doing. I’m using the Thesis theme. I posted in their forum but as yet no replies.

In reply to: Converting PowerPoint slide to imageNever mind; I posted my q on the Thesis forum and a mod suggested doing a screen capture and pasting into PS, which worked. They’re a little less moronically militant and a little more helpful over there.

In reply to: Converting PowerPoint slide to imageWell it’s a problem other WP users may have encountered (hence “troubleshooting”). I did do a Google search first, as always. I didn’t find anything addressing this problem.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Testing before going livePerfect! I had started digging into what I had to do to run WP on my PC, discovered I needed to install a web server, MySQL, php, etc. and was ready to throw up my hands. This link shows how installing XAMPP takes care of everything. Thanks again.

In reply to: Testing before going liveThanks. I figured it shouldn’t be a new question, which is why I checked the FAQs first. I also scanned the forum but didn’t see anything close.

Again, thanks.
