In reply to: First attemptA bit overwhelming with background and all. Keep the background but change the front to white or light grey or something. Change the color of your font – hurts the eyes after a while. Think “gentle”.

In reply to: Any Feedback PleaseLooks like a giant sales pages to me; even though you display some nice pics on top. BTW; your “Yes Mike….” button at the bottom of the page doesn’t work.
Too much happening on your site. A bit confusing. Lighten it up a bit. And decide what you want to do: have a sales page with free blog content or have a “free betting blog” where you promote Mike’s stuff.

In reply to: Ok, my turn. :-DHello;
Overall your site looks clean and easy on the eyes. You got a few headings with “nothing found” in them. Guess your blog is still a “work in progress”. Couldn’t quite make out what the “About” page is about (no pun intended).
Still, on a scale from 1 to 10 : 7.5 (and that’s pretty good considering you are probably doing everything yourself). Keep it up.

In reply to: New Website: CMS Design ResourceGood job. Looks like you got things well together. Don’t know about the features of the template you’re using but (if possible) add “Featured Post” or “Recent Post” on top of your articles to attract your readers even more.
Other than that: great job man.

In reply to: Feedback | Tips on theme in progressHey Rhand;
Checked your site. You are in luck. I happen to speak, read and understand Dutch. Suggestion: put everything in English unless you are specifically looking to target (and limit) your blog to Dutch reading folks only.
Use a different font color for the sub-heading under “Bakfiets and Meer!”. What you got now, is difficult to read on your image background.
Other than that, I think you’re on the right track. Images in your posts related to the lake will spruce up your site quite a bit.

In reply to: New in arabic, wordpress as CMSHey man;
Checked out your site. Just one “positive” comment: strictly Arabic language limits your exposure to Arabic speaking people only. Is that your intend?
Color scheme a bit weak I think, but that’s a matter of opinion. Since I don’t speak or read Arabic, it’s a bit hard to find out what’s going on on your site.Lodester

In reply to: Newbie – need feedback on new siteHey there;
Checked your site. That’s your first time doing this? You should consider making money as an site designer. Layout is great, easy to navigate and soft on the eyes. Like James5 maybe consider revamping the color of your navbar. But then again, it somewhat matches the “theme” of your site. All in all well done. Keep it up.

In reply to: Latest add ons don’t show up in site!Hello;
Problem fixed and … this is something other WP members might experience as well:
Using a cache plugin (cos-html-cache) to speed up my blog I discovered that this “crazy” module decides to create HTML files from PHP files every time a specific PHP is loaded. Indeed that speeds up blog load time
BUT >>>>
It does NOT incorporate new changes made to the blog AFTER the HTML file has been created by that plugin (talk about a big booger).
So, after I deactivate the cache plugin module and removed all HTML files it had created in my root directory, I am happy to report that all the changes I make are shown up instantly just like they use to!
Thanks for your help Esmi;
Much appreciated.

Hello mKirk;
yes, something like this is possible but only through html coding. Look at my site https://www.smokingwebtraffic.com/members and scroll down to the bottom. You’ll see a section entitled “Hot Sites”. The images are side-by-side. I achieved this by creating tables first in html and then pasted the code into the pages or posts at the spots you want the images to appear (just make sure you are in the “HTML” mode of your post and not the “VISUAL” mode.
If you don’t know how to create tables, I have included my code. Just replace the <img src> with your own pictures and the with your own links (if you need them – if not remove them).
Hope this helps

In reply to: Latest add ons don’t show up in site!Hey Esmi;
I noticed something strange regarding my blog not showing my latest posts and stuff. It seems to be only from the main page (index or home page). As soon as I click on a lesson, all my additional posts and other changes are visible and accessible. But as soon as I hit the “home” link (the default load page), my latest updates all “magically” disappear.
Maybe this gives you an idea as to what might be happening.
Thanks
Lode

I added ‘Viral Marketing’ as a new category – it doesn’t show. I added a new button to my “Hot Sites” but old button keeps displaying. I added a post under the Viral Marketing but it doesn’t show up either. Yet in my admin panel everything I did is there saved and fully functional.
thanks

In reply to: [Plugin: MyCustomWidget] Not working consistentlyhey Janek;
Got your My Customwidget 1.8.1 installed on WordPress 2.71. At first the module worked great, I was able to add 3 custom widgets. When I added a fourth custom widget something went horribly wrong and my entry screen under customize my widgets is completely out of wack. I can’t delete a custom widget, I can’t edit one and I can’t delete any. I deactivated the My customwidget, uninstalled it from the plugins directory and reinstalled it and reactivated it. However some how somewhere all my all distorted widgets keep coming back. How can I fix this mess?I actually have an image of what my screen looks like but I can’t add it here. Please advice, my site goes life in 2 weeks. thanks
