I dont have a wp-config.php file. Just the sample file. Doesnt the wp-config.php get added once you set up wordpress? I could be wrong but I thought that is how i works. It is not letting me set it up.

This is what I have on the wp-config-sample file.

That is exactly what I have. I set the database name to gardewine so when I do my set up, my database name is gardewine, user = root, password= root, datbasehost =localhost

My wp-config file does say -sample behind the name. Could that be the problem?

Mysql host is also localhost.

I checked the settings in the wp-config file and the database name, username and password is all correct.
Also I am not sure if traffic is the case. I am only trying to set up and download wordpress.

Would it be that I am now using a windows instead of a mac and I need to use WAMP?

Sorry I apologize. I am new to this so you might have to bare with me.
I am using MAMP to host the website.
I have done this before and it worked awesome.
I followed these directions to the T both times: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress_Locally_on_Your_Mac_With_MAMP

It is a specific server that they are using for an intranet.

I am currently having some issues. I am moving my intranet website from my computer using MAMP to another computer server. We am trying to follow the document listed above and am having some troubles. I have downloaded the files, but since I was using MAMP, how do I export the database using MYSQl? Everytime I try to download MySQL it doesn’t do anything. Am I missing something?

Oh you are the greatest person ever!!!!! So basically once I have created the whole intranet using my template and wordpress, I take those files from the local drive and put them on the server? Correct?

yes thank you. I found a template called woffice that I want to use. How would I set it up on my own computer first? Do they have to have a “domain” name? Sorry I know what intranet is but I am so lost…

Thank you. What is a vpn (sorry so new to this) or another option of a secure method? Is there options you like best?
