I’ve found the problem. The post contained a Zoom link. When I removed it, the featured image displayed at the correct size; when I reinstated it, the image was tiny again.
After some experimentation, my best guess is : The Zoom link was at the beginning of the post – in the displayed text excerpt. It consists of 74 characters – too many to be contained in one line of the usual layout and there is no natural place for Blog Designer to break the text string. This forced BD to make the text line longer than its usual layout and so the image was scaled down to fit.

In reply to: [Visual Portfolio, Photo Gallery & Post Grid] category filter? To make my question clearer:
Is it possible to have two portfolios on the same website, each displaying different posts, and if so, how? Specifically, I want to display “Properties to Let” on one page and “Businesses & Services” on another.
I am willing to upgrade to Pro version if this feature is available

In reply to: [Storefront] ‘Add Logo’ in customiser forces me to crop imageOooops! I’ve found the fault …. ME!!
The reason why it worked last week and not this week is because I’d forgotten to install the Storefront theme this time. I noticed when I read my own status report. D’oh.
Ah well, this information should be of interest to someone. It presumably means that there is a bug in WP’s import media interface which is overwritten by Storefront.
Sorry if I wasted anyone’s time with this non-issue.
Thanks anyway.Hi Cais, when I select “Custom”, I see 4 fields :
(1) “Code” This is where I pasted the bove code.
(2) “Stylesheet URL” I have left it empty
(3) “Javascript URL” I have left it empty
(4) “What must the lightbox be applied to?” I’ve tried all 4 options then left it set at “Try to apply to all images”For what it’s worth, there’s some strange behaviour when I save my settings in Lightbox Effects. I enter code in “code” box and click “save”, then when I re-open “Lightbox Effects”, the code is nowhere to be seen, then if I save again, it reappears. I can repeat that indefinitely. Maybe this means nothing but I mention it in case it does.
Update.
Sorry, I was being thick and not choosing “Custom” in in [Gallery/Other Options/Lightbox effects]. That gave me the code box but it hasn’t helped.
With or wiithout the code, when I click on a thumbnail I get a pop-up that looks like it’s coming from Prettyphoto but it only gives me a single image, I don’t get the side to side arrows for browsing through all the gallery images, nor do I get the option to magnify to full size. If I disable Prettyphoto at the same time as having no lightboxes selected in NextGEN, clicking on a thumbnail gives me no lightbox at all.
So to summerise that, NextGen seems to allow a small bit of functionality from Prettyphoto but not all of it. Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks, photocrati, you were quite right. My theme (Mystile) had a lightbox setting activated. I switched it off and now everything’s fine. I should have spotted that conflict myself, sorry for wasting your time.
Thank you for your support and the woderful plugin.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Can't Activate (Parse Error)Although my server OFFERS 5.4, I found when I checked my account that it was configured for 5.2. Sorry for giving incorrect information above. I have re-configured my account to PHP 5.4 and now BackUpWordpress works fine again. Yippeeee.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Can't Activate (Parse Error)Ditto me. Been using BackUpWordPress with no problems for over a year. Today I updated it and got the white screen of death, lost all access to my website and dashboard. I renamed the BackUpWordPress folder in my cPanel and regained access. Deleted plugin and installed it again, then got the exact same error message as everyone else here:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home4/mywebsite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/backupwordpress.php on line 34
I’m running wordpress 4.1.
It looks like this is a bug associated with the latest update. I hope you can fix it because I’m very pleased with this plugin up till now, (thanks!) If anyone wants any more detail on my setup, please ask.
