I have this same issue. Admins missing their widget areas ??
My upgrade path was:
WPMU 2.8.4 (EPEL) to 2.8.6 (EPEL) to 2.9.2 to 3.0.1
If I get a query sorted out I’ll certainly share it.
Hopefully I won’t have to update that tuple 150 times manually…
