In reply to: [GetSocial] [Plugin: GetSocial] Issue with Additional Buttonsive just recently installed the plugin and its not a cache issue as i didnt install any cache plugins to date for this very reason. I dont have anything in the additional buttons box, however i simply cannot paste anything within it. browser caching can only be an issue if it contains old pages but this is a fresh new page.

In reply to: Complete Mess | WORDPRESS EXPERT ONLYlet me ask you this question: are you aware you have debugging on?
HP Errors, Warnings and Notices
Enabling WP_DEBUG will cause all PHP errors, notices and warnings to be displayed. This is likely to modify the default behavior of PHP which only displays fatal errors and/or shows a white screen of death when errors are reached.

re:
and, after some time, get a new screen that says “500 (Internal Server) Error” (what I’m used to seeing – like “unpacking update” , etc, doesn’t happen)
so.. are you saying that the new version is installed and you’re getting this error after some time online? If you’re getting server errors like 500 – it can mean several other things like.
1) server is down
2) your browser cache files need to removed – too old
3) you have no connectionhope i made sense
depends on which wp version you were on previously. if you were up dating a fairly older wp version to the newer 3.3.1 you may have plugins that are not compatible at this time, therefore you will need to reset your plugins and next install each plugin one-by-one until you find the culprit causing the problem.

In reply to: Hiding admin bar in WordPress 3.3@marcesadrian – you aint the 1st person that yelped about this new admin toolbar issue. We got your point though many furlongs ago.
@jpmclaughlin – lol – good show old chap.
@rev Voodoo – I told you there would be spanking.
@ipstenu – You’re a real cool dude my man. I like that Elf.
@all others – yea… it’s like they’ve step on our toes and standing in our face and we must live with it.personally the toolbar is fine for novices – but myself and i can imagation countless others disagree with the supposedbly ‘ease of use’ protocol. although i dislike the bar, i have deep respect for wordpress and have passed this message to my current blog trainees. I have not heard a Hooray from my newbies yet about it though.
i really like the menu dropdown feature. as for the new ‘featured pointer’ popup; i have fear of mini popup wars in the future between plugin developers trying everything to get our attention. and i certainly do not want any more annoyance within wp-admin. this has yet to prove itself as ideal.
that’s how i feel about it anyway.

In reply to: Random ? characters in postsyea… ive had that problem a lot in the past. if you are pasting from word to the wordpress editor you will get these odd characters. its better if you use notepad to copy n paste from.
you can try selecting all the content in edit window and then click the ‘unformat’ icon within the TINYMCE editor. this will change everything back to the themes default style sheet. if you must use Word, try saving the file as *.txt – UTF-8 encoding before pasting into wordpress.
