Latest from your “fixing and upgrades:” I now get a message for my Signature Watermark plugin that says the file PHP.ini is in safe mode!!!
You aren’t offering any solutions except experimenting with a site you’re not even sure can be trusted.NOT! I’m not buying that! Every time WP does one of their automatic updates something stops working on my site. You didn’t answer the question for mleisse so I’ll ask it again:
“The upgrades are killing plugins that I use on my site. It should be MY call as to whether or not I go to the next version of WordPress. I need to make sure that EVERYTHING on my site is compatible with the new version before upgrading. And if something is not compatible, I need to allow the developer time to fix it. I should be able to disable automatic upgrades. This is poor customer service.” (posted by member mleisse)
I don’t see where you offer to “fix” the mess your updates cause. Most of my media library is GONE; my stat counter plugin is GONE; and I can’t upload images or any other media. My site worked fine before WP updated it! I don’t see in your TOS where I agreed to allow this kind of ****.
Why should I have to go looking for ways to fix YOUR mess??
I’m considering looking for a WP replacement and I’m posting a blog about this “We’ll screw up your blog if we want to” attitude.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Upgrade issueI’m having a similar problem. Out of the blue I have started getting emails from WP telling me they have automatically updated my WP and then gives the version.
The first of these updates messed up my media files, i.e., most of my images are gone.
Since the second update to 3.9.1 I can’t even move around my site.
Who authorizes these “automatic” updates because I don’t remember telling anyone they could update my site.

In reply to: uploading mediaI thought that might be the case but it will only let me upload photos as “media.”
