Hi, thanks for your reply. I am using Elementor Pro with the Astra Pro theme. Yoast SEO is supposed to be compatible with Elementor so this is why I am confused… Besides it’s not like the plugin reports an error, or a 0 word count, it just seem to report random numbers…

Well this didn’t take long to solve. I logged out and logged back in and now it works.

Well I have decided to rebuild the whole web site from scratch. I have done my research and I am planning on using Elementor, and no theme if I can manage to design what I need without one. The goal is to be fully autonomous so I can make any change I want in the future without external help.

I’m still unsure as to what is preventing me from updating the homepage but your explanation about the proprietary page builder seems likely. When I first made the website I was in a hurry to get it up and running, qI should have researched that a little further.

I’m a little stuck here. The guy who sold me the theme is not answering. Can anyone help?

Ok, I have found out that the theme has been made with WP Bakery page builder. I have also found out that there is a new version of WP Bakery that I am supposed to install (maybe the update doesn’t work because I have the old version?), but I don’t want to pay for this plugin because I don’t like it. So I’m stuck, right? Or is there a way I can rebuild my home page with Elementor without breaking everything?

Also, there is an update for my theme (MF theme), should I install it and if so, how do I do that? I have downloaded a zip file that says “installable wp files” but I don’t know how to use it. The MF theme doesn’t appear in my list of plugins but it is in the menu bar on the left.

If I change the theme momentarily, is it going to save all my theme modifications so that everything goes back to normal when I switch back? That sounds scary…

Yes I thought that having multiple editors might be a problem but I don’t remember having installed any.

I have edited most of my pages with Elementor. When editing pages I can see several editing options: WP Bakery, Gutenberg, “back to WordPress editor”… but when I look at my plugin list I only see Elementor and WP Bakery. I’m tempted to remove WP Bakery but it looks like my homepage has been made with this one, because when I try to edit it with Elementor, the layout is all messed up. Is it safe to remove WP Bakery?
