In reply to: I get a "0" added at the start of each postThank you, Clayton! I’ll look into it during breakfast tomorrow, and see if it’s something I’ll have the time to fiddle with. If it looks like it’ll be costly, timewise, the permalinks will have to remain as they are until I can look into it. I appreciate your help, and will change the status of this thread!

In reply to: I get a "0" added at the start of each postThat seems to have done the trick. Thank you, Clayton! Exactly the kind of help I was hoping for. ??
I have one more quick question, relating to what another person suggested about the permalinks. I tried changing it to a prettier version (with date and post title instead of default), and it asks me to “edit my .htaccess). I’m given nothing more than that – I do not know what htaccess is, where it is or what I am to do with it once I find it. Could you help me?

In reply to: I get a "0" added at the start of each postEsmi: This problem arose today, I’ve had no problems with the theme so far! That is what is perplexing to me, as I have not made any changes between the time of the desired look and this new undesired variety.

In reply to: I get a "0" added at the start of each postThanatica: If anyone would be willing to help me out for free, I’d certainly appreciate it – but in the absense of that, I’ll have to opt for the availibility of free templates. As a poor student, I am hard-pressed to find the time and money for anything else. ??
Clayton: I still see it, but not through the link – I have to go to the blog, then click one of the headlines. I’m using Firefox, on Windows 7.

Rachel: Thank you, I’ll look into it.

In reply to: My sidebars and their widgets have somehow ended up BELOW the blogThe shameful thing is that I actually studied programming in high school, but that was seven years ago!
I figured out that it must’ve been an issue in one of my latest two posts, ’cause those were the only ones where I fiddled with the html-code to add
(’cause no matter how many enter strokes, it still wouldn’t move text down) – I must’ve accidentally removed a <div> in the process. Clumpsy me! But logical reasoning trumps panic, ’cause it seems to work now.Does it look alright for you too, now?

In reply to: My sidebars and their widgets have somehow ended up BELOW the blogThat’s unfortunate. I have to admit, I haven’t even a clear understanding of what is wrong here, which makes it incredibly difficult to troubleshoot. I don’t know what a <div> tag is, what it does, where it should go, etc.

In reply to: My sidebars and their widgets have somehow ended up BELOW the blog“Validation Output: 163 Errors”, woah, that sounds ominous!
I can’t quite read that; Where should the missing div tag go?

In reply to: Separate blogs under the same header and menu?I want to have the blogs as sub-domains, but I want them to be reachable from the landing page. Whether the blogs themselves are separate doesn’t matter much, as long as I’m free to create content within them. For instance:
examplename.com/politicsblog
examplename.com/gamesblogBoth should then be reachable from one menu, visible at the front page/landing page. If you are reading the blog about politics, you should be able to easily navigate to the blog on video games from the menu above.

In reply to: Separate blogs under the same header and menu?Entire blogs, so to speak. For instance one blog on politics and one blog on, say, video games. Mere examples, but nonetheless. In that case I’d want the top menu (like the one I linked earlier) to be:
Blog 1 (Politics) | Blog 2 (Video games) | About
With my previous wordpress installation, I found no way to have a top menu button linking directly to a separate blog, only to a page.

In reply to: Separate blogs under the same header and menu?I’ve seen that before, but as far as I understand it that won’t do what I want. I don’t need multi-user, I’ll be the only one writing. I simply want a bunch of regular wordpress blogs, but all housed within the same menu. Embedded, so to speak.
