Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Plug in issuesHi george. Thank to so much for your response again and for looking into it for me.
Yes they do state that they do daily back ups as part Of the managed service so could just do that “one click” for me. It would appear not.
They’re don’t think the white screen of death I have is necessarily related to the plug in. More worrying ha that somebody added themselves as the owner of my website and I don’t even know who they are so I think my site has been hacked.
Nevertheless, I had to pay £89 yesterday for it to be “fixed”, and it’s not a guarantee after that.
I’ve been so disappointed with the service from them and will look to use another provider once this is sorted. So my saga continues…!
Enjoy your day and again thank you for looking into this for me. Louise

In reply to: Plug in issuesthank you. i’m on the phone to godaddy now and they said they’ll look into it but I now have to start paying extra for this service. I’m not impressed – this doesn’t even guarantee a fix or finding out what the problem is in the first place?

In reply to: Plug in issuesOne other question. If it appears that my site has been hacked, I have a WordPress Managed service, why would WordPress not sort this out for me as part of my package? What exactly is a managed service if they do not do this?
THanks

In reply to: Plug in issuesHI and thank you for your replies.
I have Managed WordPress, surely this would include putting this right? I have no idea what to do!
Yes I do teach IT, however, I teach Microsoft products, nothing to do with websites – of this I have very little knowledge. I am trying to contact WordPress via phone and can’t find a number anywhere.
Again, thanks for your replies. DO you know how I can actually speak to WordPress about this? I’m going round in circles.
Hi Justin
Thank you for your response and apologies for the delay in replying.
I contacted my web host who couldn’t work out why the form wasn’t working and they said it wasn’t within their remit to try and fix it for me. They did, however, eventually create a different form for me (A Contact form?) and it works perfectly so although I never got to the bottom of the issue, they did get me up and running.
Thanks again.

In reply to: Form not workingHi
Thank you for your response – I have re-directed my query to the link above so hope somebody can help me.Thanks again.

In reply to: Form not workingI have two posts altogether – one is regarding a form – as stated above – that isn’t sending me an e-mail when people complete and submit the form. It’s a NinjaForm – does that mean anything to you? My WP knowledge is limited! This form was created a few years ago and can’t remember exactly how I did it – that’s why I can’t correct what’s gone wrong.
The other submission I made was for a table that I added using an AddIn and wondered how I could change the width of a column as I can’t see any options. This one isn’t a deal breaker to be honest and at a push I could live with it, but I need the form to work.
thank you.

In reply to: Form not workingApologies – I don’t post on here very often and don’t really find it that easy to navigate around and find the appropriate place…. I didn’t think it would be an issue.

In reply to: Editing a table in WordPressThink I may need to explore external avenues to finish my website. I’ve looked at the link and the code etc simply means nothing to me. Thank you any way, I think I’ll speak to a web developer I know.

In reply to: Cannot edit my websiteHI Jan
Yes it let me log into the site using the link above, however, it still didn’t show me my actual site – just the option of three blank ones. I called GoDaddy who host the site and they informed me that I had entered the wrong password and got me into my account. I’m still not sure it did in fact let me sign in and gave me the option of three websites – all of which were blank – but I can now edit the site.Thank you so much for your input and help all, it’s appreciated.
Best wishes.

Andrew, it’s hosted by GoDaddy – does that help?
Thank you for your help, Louise.

In reply to: Website not found on GoogleI have just visited the link you sent and have added the website. It says at this moment in time I cannot make any crawl/index editing and to come back later. Surely this is because my site is new and has not yet been crawled and I already know it’s not being visited because nobody can find it. How do I get it to be visible when somebody enters the web address in Google?
thank you.

In reply to: I need my Call to Action widget to contain a linkWhilst creating this, I am also trying to create a HomePage Slider with several images, however, regardless of big or small I create the actual images, when I choose them for my Slider, they’re huge and the definition is not good at all.
I cannot find anywhere I can change the size in which the image works on the Slider, or the definition.
Is anybody able to help with this also?
Thanks.
