I got five e-mails in the first day from WPMU Dev, one welcoming me (which I unsubscribed from straight away). I then got:

• getting the most from WPMU Dev (also unsubscribed)
• WIN $144 free hosting caption contest (also unsubscribed)
• Teamwork makes the dream work (also unsubscribed)
• Announcing DEV day (also unsubscribed)

Five e-mails in one day, none of which I am interested in and all of which I unsubscribed from with no apparent effect.

I stand by my review.

I updated my site security plugin to whitelist the IP address as outlined in the troubleshooting guide. However, the same problem occurs, the hub seems to get to the end of scanning, and then the error message appears on the BLC page of my WordPress dashboard “Scan could not be started because it seems you are on localhost. Broken Links Checker API can not reach sites on local hosts”

If it helps my site is findingtheuniverse.com. It’s possible a security configuration is blocking access, but it’s odd because it scans the dashboard seems to be scanning the links. It just never seems to complete and I get the error message about localhost.

Thanks for the quick response. I should have been more clear, the site is not a localhost setup, it’s a public site that has been live for years. So I don’t understand why it is having this error message.

I was slightly perplexed when a ‘performance’ oriented WP release came out with a random render blocking css file. Appreciate it was tiny but still kind of weird.

Good idea ?? I tried it in Firefox as well as Chrome & Edge and it gives the same result. Ah well. Hopefully it’s fixed at some point.

Do you happen to know if this is a known issue that’s being worked on, or should I file a bug in the wordpress bug tracker? I’m just not sure if they’d care if it only affects the old way of doing things ??

Thanks for the update! So the issue is only in the area where the TOC would overlap links. Try setting the TOC to 100% width (TOC settings, appearance, width). You might also need some more headers so the TOC is longer.

Here’s a video. You’ll see when I mouseover the links with the TOC collapsed the URL does not appear at the bottom left of the browser window and the clicks (yellow blobs) do nothing.

When I expand the TOC, the links appear as expected.

Try looking at it on a desktop screen that is 1100px wide at least.
