I am using my testing area to test this. I created a new event type called “My Test”. I set the text color to 8F8F8F and the background color to F8F8F8 and saved the event type. (New event type id 352.)

I went back to the event types list (click on event types in admin menu). I selected to edit “My Test”. I changed the text color to 00FFFF and the background to FF0000 and clicked update. The screen still shows the light gray and dark gray for the colors.

I checked the database “wp_termmeta” table. It shows the colors for id 352 as 00FFFF for text and FF0000 for background. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ml668m8dle5pofy1effq6/DB_rec_EType_352.jpg?rlkey=ssysmitloiqmluzu7bwsgkzev&dl=0

I clicked on “Event Types” in the admin menu again. it still shows the gray colors. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/tn4o8dxz7rydnk5w1xnpu/DB_Rec_EType_list.jpg?rlkey=t8ajwwhlmzmu8rwot4i04ay7w&dl=0

I chose to edit “My Test” again. The screen now shows the correct (edited) colors. Click on “Event Types” in admin menu again and the colors there are now correct there, also. I’m guessing that this has something to do with the cache TTL. (I don’t want to set the TTL to some very low value.)

Folders Pro has done more testing on my staging website. They seem to have the issue of the media library not coming up when adding a new venue. They should be releasing an update soon.

Thank you to Folder Pro support for their great work.

I setup and am using Google maps. Setting up the account was free. Use of the maps is free for the first x number of requests per month. I don’t recall that the value of “x” is, but I know I have never hit it. Been using it for about a year now and have over 100 venues and over 700 events. The limit is, I’m sure, listed in the area of Google where you setup you account for maps.

Can you tell me where in the database the color values are stored? I’d like to check if it is a saving issue (are the changed values actually being stored) or a display issue. I thought that some previous testing pointed towards a display issue. (i.e the changed values were being saved to the database.)

Since I have a staging area setup for testing some other issues, I decided to revisit this issue.

In my staging area, with just EventPrime activated, I am able to change the background and text colors on an event type and the new colors remain after the save.

If I then activate LightSpeed Cache and edit an event type by changing the background and text colors and click the “update” button, the colors shown revert back to the pre-changed colors. Clicking on event types in the EventPrime menu on the left shows the colors of the edited event as the pre-change colors. “Purge all” caches has no affect. Purging the browser cache has no affect. I also changed my theme to Twenty Twenty-Four and that did not change the issue.

I’m guessing LightSpeed Cache is a commonly used plugin. Seems hard to believe that no one else is experiencing this issue.

Folder Pro support also reached out to me. I tried to explain the situation to them as best as I could. I hope they will be in touch with you to help solve this issue.

ECN support (Brian – info at eventcalendarnewsletter dot com) says he is just passing the data request to EventPrime and formatting and passing on the results to the Newsletter plugin (where the shortcode is embedded). Brian would have to tell you what call he is using and what parameters he is passing. Brian’s support has always been great and I’m sure he will help in any way he can.

With all my plugins activated, including Folders Pro, I have the issue with the venues list not appearing after adding a new venue. The same issue appears with new event types and organizers (in my case, theatres). In any of these cases, doing a search for an item that is on the list, selecting to edit the entry and then saving it, brings the list back.

When I deactivate Folders Pro, the problem goes away.

Despite my previous test, this seems to be related to Folders Pro only. LightSpeed Cache, which on previous testing seemed to be involved, does not seem to be involved.

Since I am using 28 plugins, testing every possible combination is unlikely.

The issue with the venues list not appearing after saving a new venue seems to be related to LightSpeed cache by LightSpeed Technologies. I kept activating plugins until it quit working. With this plugin activated the venues list does not appear after adding a new venue. With the plugin deactivated, the venue list appears after saving a new venue. With LightSpeed Cache activated, after saving a new venue and having the venues list not appear, if i do a search and then select to edit an existing venue and then just save it, the list of venues reappears.

I deactivated all plugins except EventPrime, ECN and LightSpeed Cache and it still worked. It seems there are multiple plugins interacting to cause the issue. Sigh … I thought I had this one figured out. More testing …

I only use jpg files to make sure they are compatibility with the EventPrime, the Events Calendar Newsletter and Newsletter plugins. (All of which are required for things to work the way I need them to.)

To test some issues we are having, I created a staging area. I disabled all plugins except EventPrime and the Events Calendar Newsletter. I tried adding a new event. The “Upload/Add image” button brings up the media library, as expected.

I activate the “Folders Pro” plugin. When I try to add a new venue now, clicking the “Upload/Add image” button does nothing. The same issue occurs when adding an event type and organizer (theatre). It does not happen with performers (shows) or events. (I have my (788) media files organized using folders pro.)

I am still testing to figure out what may be preventing the venues list from appearing after I save an event. t seems to work with EventPrime, Events Calendar Newsletter and Folders Pro enabled. Will keep adding other plugins back in to try and determine which one causes the issue. I will update this post when I know more.

I have a slider where I only want certain event types displayed. Here’s the shortcode I use: [em_events view=”slider” types=”43,46,56″ upcoming=”1″ disable_filter=”1″ individual_events=”this month”] The main part for you is the types=”43,46,56″. You can use one or more event types.

I am not with EventPrime, but IIRC that’s usually the results of a page not be setup correctly. Check the EventPrime setting section, Pages tab and make sure all the pages listed point to the proper page.

I checked the settings as per above. The setting was as I wanted it (August 3, 2024). I changed it to another format and then back to the format I wanted and saved the settings.

    It is now working correctly.

Thank you for your always prompt and helpful support.

The change I made yesterday to the event type is now showing. However …

I am logged in to the admin area of WordPress. I choose EventPrime, then Event Types. Choose edit for the event type I want to change. I change the colors and description and click the update button. The top of the screen says item updated, but the data shown on the screen is back to the old data. I go elsewhere, i.e. all events page, then go back to event types. It is still showing the old description and colors.

I log out of WordPress and log back in. The data shown on the event types page is now correct.

I change the color and description again. Update, purge all caching, refresh screen. Still showing old data. Logged out of WordPress and back in. Still showing old data.

    Very strange.

I tried the same thing with a theatre (organizer). I choose to edit a theatre. I change the description and clicked update. Screen says updated, but the data displayed is still the old data. I pull up our website in another browser. I pull up the theatre I just changed. The change to the description is not there.
