I solved the problem.

I included previous thumbails in the folder and, once loaded in nextgen gallery, it did not want to delete them!!! ??
I deleted the gallery, reloaded and now it’s ok.

The answer to my question would be:

NextGen creates another folder in picture folder including automatic thumbnail (/thumbs).
Please double check that your picture folder include just what you want to include!!! ??

I had the same problem and I find out it is quite common (I saw a lot of blog having the same issue).

I tried a lot of solution and the final one was ok. Please, don’t ask me why it works: I don’t know.

Example: page (or post) ONE is the one which create problem

1. Copy html text of page ONE
2. Delete page one, also from the bin
3. Use GD Press to delete all the revision of all the post and pages
4. Change you permalink in whatever you prefer
5. Check that there are no other post with some permalink similar to your new post/page (I had a static page called e-learning and that was the first cause of the crash)
6. New pages/post: paste the html code
7. Use a new permalink. E.G. the old one was /content-management and now write /content

That could work. If necessary rewrite al pages and post in the same way.

I think that a part of the problem could be solved by using Link Juicer Plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/link-juice-keeper/) and Wp Super Cache (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-super-cache/).

The first prevent error in links and redirect to the right pages (it works properly also for no permalinks to permalinks). The second creates html static page that are suitable also for broken links.

Let me know if it works.

I really would like to show your plugin in my index.php (static frontpage). But I tried with default theme and, obviously, perfectly work.
So it is a theme issue (I am using Satorii:www.flatland.it).

What could I do?
Is there any code to add manually somewhere to display your plugin?

Ok, I found out the problem, even if I do not know the reason.

First: Arthemia uses WP-Page Navi Plugin.
There a problem in setting: Number of posts per page (General Readings Setting in WP) and Number of post in index.php of Arthemia Theme ( query_posts(“cat=-5,-71&paged=$page&posts_per_page=7”); ?> ) must be the same, other wise it does not work (and maybe this is the solution to a very common problem with this theme, also here in WP.org).

Second, I think that another plugin (WP-Glideshows – in my index.php indicated by [<?php include (ABSPATH . ‘/wp-content/plugins/wp-glideshow/glideshow.php’); ?>])enters in some way in conflict with wp-page navi: if you comment this string, wp-page navi works properly.

So, even if I do not know why, but in some way I solved the problem.

Does anyone have an explanation for it?

out of curiousity, are you just trying to get the default navigation working? Or are you using a plugin?

Actually, i have two problems:

First in my website installation next/previous buttons do not work, even in default installation

Second, I tried to solve the problem with some plugin (So RVoodoo you’re right) but does not work anyway.

I read the article (thank you Shane), but I did not catch the problem. Does anyone find any mistake in index.php that can create some problem (both with and without plugins)?

What can I do?
