I don’t know what is going on but I am going to get rid of the Redirect plugin completely and go through the posts one by one to fix any messed up links.

    Please DISREGARD.

I just restored from before I got up to all the homepage monkey business and that copy of my site has bad links too.
So I don’t know when this happened.
I know they worked when I put made them.

Anyway, all that stuff above is irrelevant. sorry for the confusion.

Does anyone know of a possible cause.

I have a redirect plugin. I checked the links in that by clicking on them, they go to the right pages. However, the same url from a link in a post goes to the index page.
Also, not all of the links are redirected to the homepage, some still work properly.

    Edit:
I just searched for the redirection plugin I am using. It is no longer listed here. So I searched by author name. It didn’t find anything either
    author=Fakhri Alsadi
    plugin=SEO Redirection

but it still has a page off of www.ads-software.com

Does this sound like it could be my problem. The redirects are not working. I consolidated a bunch of shorter posts on similar topics. I didn’t want to lose the links so I redirected.

Could it be the redirect plugin that has done this or is there something else I can check before redoing all the links in my posts.
    …..
I didn’t receive anything telling me it needed updating or anything. Maybe that only occurs if the author updates. perhaps this just isn’t compatible with the new WP version or something.

I found this information this morning and it works.
    https://swellhost.com/wp-user-guide/how-to-insert-code-into-wordpress-posts-and-pages/

Is there anyway to position this so the text wraps around it. with an image you can put it on the left, right or center.
and if you put it on the left or right the text will wrap around the image.

    Edit:
The page I referenced says you cannot return to the WYSIWYG or the code will disappear but it looks like the code will stay if you publish the post and then go back and edit it in the wysiwyg editor

How do I get the code to work on each page/post of my blog?

GT Metrix loves that code on the homepage but gives it an F on internal pages.
(not all internal pages, some have decent grades but all the internal page scored are inferior to the index page)

Have I put it in the wrong place?
    …….
If I am using a plugin and I have pasted the code could that be the problem?
I use Autoptimize, I looked at the settings and it does not say anything about deferring js but it does optimize js. It is also possible that I don’t understand what I am reading.
Anyway, could that be causing it to not be as effective on internal pages/posts.

    I don’t understand.
Where the ‘get-addiction-treatment-now/ is should I just add a comma and /go/

    like this

    ‘get-addiction-treatment-now/,/go/

Just so you know, I am excluding it from an abundance of caution. I have no proof that it is Autoptimize that is the problem. I am sure you know better than I that in WP it could be a myriad of other things. I just want to be clear to anyone researching the plugin that there is no known problem. Also, that my blog speeds are super fast now that I use it.

    (@lucabrasi40)

all of my LP themes will be registered in the sub directory “go”

is there anyway to disable it for anything in that subdirectory.

That way I won’t have to remember to add a slug each time a make a variation of my landing page.

Your plugin rocks. I think my homepage has a GT Metrix score of pagespeed 97 and YSlow of 95.
Vast improvement over my old caching plugin

It is the code. It is bad.
    Thank for responding

Yes I am just trying to speed up page load times.

I will go do as you directed and report back in a minute.

    Thanks for responding.

    This is the landing page:
    https://ragingalcoholic.com/go/get-addiction-treatment-now

That speeded me up to 2.3 seconds
It also slowed down my normal blog homepage load by over a second, so it is now 1.5.

That still doesn’t mean that what we are doing is wrong, it just means there are alot of variables.

Will renaming the spamshield stop it from working. And do I do that through the cPanel.

Would deactivating it do the same thing.
I would even be willing to not have comments and therefore have no need for a spamshield.

    Thank you for helping.

I didn’t try your method because I bought a new theme that supported better advertising options but I appreciate your effort.

I also used language like this in text widgets that I inserted

    <img src=”url” alt=”some_text”>

than I uploaded the banners to my imagae library and got the URLs from it.

    Thanks again for helping.

It is. I was referring to the heat, scrolling, click maps. They are part of the reporting/analytical features in Metrica

    Left hand column:

    Dashboard
    Reports
    Maps ***
    Webvisor
    Segments
    Settings

Also, I use the Sparkling Theme. I don’t know if that would effect anything or not, latest version WP

After I disabled everything I noticed that my traffic dropped to zero. So I installed Yandex Metrica and it showed I did have traffic. So I think it was the multi purpose adsense plugin (or maybe it was magic)
    Anyway, it is gone now.
Viewing source code is a great idea, I wish I would have thought of it.

Thanks very much for helping out.

Thanks for answering Free WP TP

That worked great. That grid fits right in there.

    THanks for answering.

I am doing something wrong. I went to Theme Functions (functions.php) and looked for where to paste the bit of code that leaves the image tag.

I could not find it. I did a control F to make sure. I could find nothing with the word “excerpt” in it (both bits of code had that word so I looked for it, hoping to recognize something)

How do I know where to put it?

    THanks again for responding

I cannot figure out how to make it stay at the top or the bottom of my visible screen.

    So:
It puts a share bar but it is at the top of my article or at the bottom of my article or both. When a person scrolls through the article they will not see the buttons unless they scroll to the top or the bottom. I think this makes it more work to share

I am looking for a bar that will remain at the top or bottom of the visible screen from anywhere in the article.
I think this makes it easier to share.

My posts are long. I don’t ask people to click to get to the next paragraph of my article. I hate that sort of thing. I think they do it to create more pages to advertise on.

Anyway, I cannot find a way to make this bar remain at the top or bottom of the visible screen, but I definately appreciate your help.
    Thanks
