    In reply to: [Age Gate] Feature Requests

    I have what feels like an extremely silly feature request…

    And I have to apologize in advance if this has been mentioned before, as I must have overlooked it… But I happened to notice Age Gate is dumping loads of unnecessary information depending on what your settings are. In one example, I am using a simple yes/no confirmation option on a site, but the plugin is still dumping all of the date month/day/year options in case they are needed (which as mentioned, they totally are not). Since there is a configurable option, why not just have it load what it needs for that specific configuration based on a couple of if’s? I just thought it’d be an easy thing to streamline it’s use for everyone using it!

    Thanks for considering, and have a good one! ??

    @hailite Updated, made no difference.

    However, completely deleted and reinstalled it and it worked without incident.

    Going to mark this as resolved and will reference if it returns in the future.

    I’m not aware of any changes being made to lscache. Perhaps I’ll have to inquire.

    When I go into settings and attempt to save, I get a white page with ONLY the following echoed out;

    Just wanted to update in case anyone comes in behind here with the same question/problems…

    …I’ve found nothing in the update that would indicate any type of compatibility issues with this plugin. ??

    Great job Nick! And thanks for getting back to me so promptly. Much obliged!

    I’m posting this here as well, just in case you don’t see the review response!

    Six months later, and still this hasn’t been updated.

    I really don’t feel that switching hosts to accommodate an unnecessary shell command is a reasonable alternative to simply checking if it can run shell commands before actually executing and failing to throw the error every time I visit the dashboard.

    Which is still
    Warning: shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /wp-content/plugins/show-ip-address/show-ip-address.php on line 76

    Especially for the server uptime, which this plugin isn’t actually meant to provide (hence it’s name of Show IP not Show Server Updtime).

    I also don’t believe that this plugin really warrants a top-level menu item (such as Wordfence as a random example) instead of a sub-menu entry in “Settings” (such as Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode by SeedProd for another random example) with the rest of the plugins. Especially considering the setting page doesn’t have any settings, it’s just a short readme to provide the shortcode for the plugin.

    And my final bit of feedback (which all of this really isn’t meant to be offensive in any way!), are you aware that your dashboard widget is bigger than the WordPress News widget? This is mostly because of the large photo you include, which should probably be removed as it’s unnecessary (and doesn’t actually serve a purpose besides aesthetics). In fact, even your plugin page doesn’t reflect the massive new dashboard widget. There’s also a lot of additional unnecessary static information on the widget that could be moved to the settings page instead to save dashboard space.

    I would very much love to give a 5-star review, even still, because it DOES do what it’s intended to do… And I know these alterations could be done in just a minute or two! I just wish you’d finally get around to them. So the plugin can do what it’s meant to, without all of the frilly fluff.

    Still waiting to update my review~!

    While I understand that may be the case Jo, as I also had looked it up before opening a forum thread, that simply doesn’t apply to my issue. The dilemma is that I receive this error (or an error like it) from no other plugin or facet of my wordpress instillation despite all of my other plugins and content. It’s unusual that the Custom Dashboard Help plugin readme page specifically, would be making a call to a php that’s apparently outside of it’s allowed directories. And it’s especially unusual that the director would be “wp-content/plugins/custom-dashboard-help/includes/Jo_Landers_WP_Plugin_Admin/admin.php/markdown-converter-plus/markdown-converter-plus.php” as I mentioned previously, because even if I had Markdown_Converter_Plus installed which I don’t, that certainly wouldn’t be the correct location of it.

    So I’m thinking there’s probably at least a slight chance that there is a technical problem here that I am not in control of.

    I’m sorry, let me make sure I understand. You included a function in your plugin aimed at helping website visitors sign in to make am appointment. You then instead intentionally break or otherwise make this function stop properly functioning despite clearly leaving it accessible, and then instruct your users of this plugin to use a css code to hide this intentionally broken function that isn’t mentioned anywhere is left to remain instead of being appropriately removed, while being intentionally broken?

    If I understand correctly, I am absolutely shocked and admittedly disappointed and embarrassed for you and I will be leaving a review to let potential future users know about this practice.

    When attempting to “reset object(s)”, page “/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=online_status_insl” displays “Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /home/content/15/7794515/html/wp-content/plugins/online-status-insl/online-status-insl.php on line 239”

    Or install a custom CSS plugin.

    I suppose I should have been more specific. Right now I am using the above CSS using the /wp-admin/themes.php?page=editcss option with Mode: Add-on so as to not alter the theme itself.

    I could make a child-theme, but again I’m needing to know how to get rid of the space I’m referring to.

    Thank you for the guidance esmi, thankfully I’m not THAT foolish. ?? hehe

    Actually, I am experiencing this very same problem…

    While I am using https://wordpress.mysite.com/

    I often recieve the page

    https://wordpress.mysite.com/wordpress/wp-admin/admin.php?page=pagecodestuff

    This is outrageously annoying…
