Thanks, Steven,
I turned “Enable site accelerator” off. Now clicking the placeholder links goes to “Page not found”. The old html code did not include the “wp-content/uploads/” that is current usage. However, in posts (at least the ones I checked) the links without that work fine.
See, for example, https://photography.ludwig.gallery/2022/03/15/our-bridge/Hi Steven,
One old page did not work at all. I added the html code from the wordpress.com site at the bottom – that works.
The page is: https://photography.ludwig.gallery/arborists-at-work/Thank you, Steven Stern,
I have followed your suggestion. Results have been mixed, not all links work. I am still trying to find out what the problems are. Some of my posts and pages date back more than a decade when links to media were specified slightly differently.Thank you, Kausar Alam,
I will take a closer look at the plugin you suggest.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Import is interrupted – migrating from com to orgHi threadi,
That file is less than 4 MB, that is a decimal point after the three. It takes but a few seconds to upload that file. It is the import process that goes out to the links in that file and transfers them that takes time. The combined size of the media files is about 400 MB.
I don’t think WP-CLI would help me. I don’t kow how to start executing the importer, but it would still take the same time running that process. Thanks for the suggestion, however.- This reply was modified 2 years, 3 months ago by ludwigkeck.

In reply to: Import is interrupted – migrating from com to orgThank you, threadi,
The import file is 3.777 MB, not too large. It does not contain the image files, just links to the present ones. The import process then goes and gets them, one by one, oldest first.
I have increased all limits that I have access to (php.ini file).
There is no option for breaking up the process into smaller chunks that I know of.

I thought maybe someone here has experience with this.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Header Image LinkThank you, Oliver,
When I used the logo I was not able to find a way to set it without top and side margins. The look with the header image is what I am after. You are right, of course, that on smaller screens, especially phones, only the center of the image is shown.
I might try again.

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Grid Title position on taxonomy pagesI did the same for tags, ( .tag in place of .category ) and that makes those pages also more readable.

Thank you, robodrago,
I had not paid any attention to my site for a while and just reactivated WordFence. Then had a member log in. There was no problem logging in. It may indicate that the issue has been fixed.
I had not checked the WordFence log. When I deactivated it I scrubbed all logs. So I may have lost valuable information.
Hello mfisherusa,
Thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear that I was not the only one with the issue.
There has been no response from reputeinfosystems or anyone else. I don’t think the issues have been resolved. I also feel strongly that WordFence is essential. I have grown less enthusiastic about ARMember, would like to know of alternative that works properly.Hello reputeinfosystems,
Thank you so much for assisting with this. Before you checked the site I had continued to analyze the problem. I found that there is a conflict with WordFence. With WordFence deactivated the login works normally and there are no other problems.
When you attempted to signup, WordFence was deactivated and it worked as expected. Unfortunately you mistyped your email address (as arnenber.com) – I received the appropriate info email. Yes, I also have it set for manual approval.
For several years this site has been the target of hackers and spammers with often several fake sig-ups per day. The hackers have been kept at bay with WordFence (which is now deactivated).
I have not found what setting in WordFence is causing the problem, if indeed it is a setting. I will gladly work with you in resolving the issue, just let me know how I should proceed in my end.
I really appreciate you looking into this. Surely this is bound to cause problems for others, and if we can fix it, it will be a win-win for all. Thank you much.
Ludwig

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] header background imageThank you, CLGolden,
Your suggestion got me to look at the patterns – I also went through the course but it didn’t lead me to the solution.
The answer was using a cover image. That had never seemed to me to be the solution, but it is.
