In reply to: [gee Search Plus, improved WordPress search] Excellent pluginThanks for the nice words and feedback.
One of the main goals of the plugin was to be fast and simple and so far I think it delivered! Now I need to work to perfect the relevance of the results.
Nice. If it works for you don’t forget to push “works” button.
And thanks for the suggestion.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [gee Search Plus, improved WordPress search] The hightlight featureTo all in this thread:
Version 1.1.8 (latest) includes a new setting field ‘highlight allowed areas’ where you should define the jQuery selector where the highlight feature should apply.
As an example, for the Twenty Thirteen default theme, I’ve defined ‘#content’ to allow the highlight only in div id=”content” . Please use your own IDs or Classes according to your themes. If not defined, it will fallback to #content.
Indeed there are issues regarding the highlight feature and other plugins (like Jetpack). I’ve changed the way scripts are loaded on frontend, I’ve also included a limitation on where highlight feature can act (regarding the DOM) thus reducing possible scripts’ conflicts.
Could you please test version 1.1.8 and let me know how it goes at your end?I’ll have a look right away. Thanks for all the feedback, Alexander!

In reply to: [gee Search Plus, improved WordPress search] Search does not work anymoreHi
Thanks for the feedback.
Could you please let me know if this issue happens with any searched word, or it is something specific with word ‘Apple’? Does it only appears on a custom field, or this word is also on a title or content of the post? Finally, if you could send me your website URL so I can perform some user testing it would make it easier to trace the problem.
Thanks

In reply to: [gee Search Plus, improved WordPress search] Only works with one word?Hi Swan1305,
Thanks for your feedback.
The search function in this plugin is AND-query like (as pointed out in the plugin features). This means that all the searched words need to be in the title+content, or in the term taxonomy, or in the custom field to be elected to the results.
You may argue that the OR-query like makes more sense (probably for some websites it does!). In the attempt to make the plugin easy to configure I’ve removed some options. Maybe in a future release I’ll include a selector to define the type of query (AND vs. OR).
So, it works like this by design.
Same problem here..moving to hard coded ..
