thanks for your reply.
Since I couldn’t believe that there is no solution for this issue, I asked Gemini.
It didn’t provide the definitive solution but guided me to the settings where I found it.
The solution is adding the URL of the translated page (without /en) to ‘Translate Only Certain Paths’ in the ‘Do not translate certain paths’ section under Settings > Translate Press > Advanced > Exclude strings.

I forgot to mention where you can test it: go to https://haerzchlopfae-hebamme.ch/ – the only menu link that contains /en is VOR DER GEBURT > BIRTH PREPARATION > WITH HYPNOSIS; all other menu links don’t contain /en.
Open that page and look at other menu links again – they all contain /en after that.

I want to add that this happens on one site only of 50+ sites where I have Adminimize V 1.11.10 installed with the same stack of other plugins, so it’s not about an incompatibility with one of those.

Solved.
Installed WP Mail SMTP with an own SMTP server.

thanks, I know, but as far as I see it’s not possible to translate the strings in the confirmation email via Loco Translate. Or did I miss something?
btw. I just was wondering if the changes made with the snippet are safe, but I think they are.
For the php files I know that I must copy them and their folder path to the child theme.

Hi,
Syncing had no effect, the formerly German strings remained English.
Those I could retranslate using the snippet.
Now that all formerly German strings are in English I should be able to change the strings in the respective php files.
I hope this won’t be reverted by the next plugin updates.

thank you very much. While I understand the concept of template overriding and found the files needed, I don’t see how to change the German translations of the respective strings.
I tried using Loco Translate but as soon as I changed a string, other strings that were OK got messed up. Strangely this wasn’t reversible even by deactivating Loco Translation.
