  • Hi there, I’m sorry to hear this happened with the plugin.
There was actually a conflicting bug between WordPress and the plugin so last week I provided an update with the plugin completely rewritten that avoids this error in the .htaccess file.

It was not an injection in to your site but a bug on my behalf so I apologise for that. Your site is not vulnerable by using this plugin.

If you update to the latest version of the plugin, simply ‘deactivate’ and ‘activate’ it again to make it remove the old plugin code and add a much better spam blocking code which is much more effective.

Hey there, at the moment there isn’t a way to manually add your own spam bots to the list.
This would be a nice feature to implement in future but for now we are focusing on keeping our big compiled list of spam bots updated within the plugin.

Hey there, I just responded to some other user’s regarding this issue so please see below:

Just letting you know that we’ve rewritten the plugin using a different method which keeps the .htaccess file safe and stable from any conflicts with WordPress and any other plugins that write to the file.

Please feel free to re-download it if you wish, we’re in the process of updating the spam list with a better .htaccess method in place also.

Sorry for the inconvenience, it’s still hard to see in the code why the old version acted up the way it did.

Hey there, your site wasn’t actually hacked at all – what was happening was the write process to the .htaccess file actually had some conflict issues with WordPress.

We have now rewritten the plugin using a different method which keeps the .htaccess file safe and stable from any conflicts with WordPress and any other plugins that write to the file.

Please feel free to re-download it if you wish, we’re in the process of updating the spam list with a better .htaccess method in place also. ??

Hi there, sorry to hear about this happening. We’re aware of the plugin somehow not working correctly with WordPress at the moment and we will have this bug fixed in the next few days.
