Actually, a hint is that TOC+ leaves “<!–TOC–>” in the page source code.
It looks like the plugin leaves “<!–TOC–>” as a placeholder in the being generated page source code, to eventually replace it later, in the funtion “the_content” in the file /wp-content/plugins/table-of-contents-plus/toc.php
That’s I guessed based on my very basic knowledge of PHP, but I may be wrong. ??
