No, it’s not a free host, in fact, it came recommended.
The only recommendation I can give is: avoid.
Not putting too fine a point on it, it’s D9Hosting in the UK.
I’ll tell them the good news. Because it happened again with another site yesterday.

@mglong I didn’t actually change anything on my hosting account, I just updated the .htaccess file as directed in the link I published in my previous answer. Just try it.

@mglong, that was the same for me. By upgrading to 5.3, the spook went away. Now it’s fine.

Just added php 5.3.+ activation to .htaccess file – that did it.

Same problem. I just updated teh plugin. I’m on Hostgator with php 5.2.17.
I can’t get back into the site now.

I’m having exactly the same problem on a client’s site. Either the Google+ and Twitter feed icons show but not the images for the main share buttons, or, when I disble New Mode, the share buttons appear and the Google+ and Witter Feed buttons disappear (both on Chrome and FF).
I updated to the latest WP version (3.5.1) and the latest Shareaholic version.

Any suggestions how to fix this?
