I changed the header image and it stuck….

I am being told by Go Daddy that they do auto caching.

And since I am on there hosted site it cannot be turned off.

They don’t understand why this is affecting the theme, they say they have never seen a theme that cant hold its settings because of caching.

Thoughts?

Is there a way to disable the caching?

I spoke to my host (Go Daddy) today and they said they were caching the site and I also had a plugin caching the web site and that would be a problem.

I removed my cache plugin (Comet Cache) and all was working, for a few minutes then the settings reverted back.

They installed a default theme (2015 or something like that) and the settings persisted.

They told me it sounds like a theme issue.

Nothing changed other than updating to a newer version of the theme.

If I knew the technicalities behind this stuff I wouldn’t be using WordPress.

Alot of us use it because we are not skilled in web design as it is not our trade that we went to school for.

If you do not want to help as I have been extremely patient for the past several months because you are very on top of things that is fine and can go with another theme.

As you can see I am not the only one having the issues, just the only that keeps asking when it will be fixed.

Please advise me on what you would like me to do

This issue is not resolved, worked for a couple days.

Settings are gone instantly with that change.

Please check customizer errors.

open customize page(wp-admin/customize.php) with chrome browser.

mouse right click , menu select inspect.

When the lower side of the browser or a new window is displayed.

Select tab Console.

Is there anything displayed in red letters?

Not that I can see.

Well the settings held until I edited my home page.

Moved a picture, not my settings are gone again.

I did deactivate the social slider and so far the settings are holding.

Tried Version: 1.441

Still no go
