I have been in touch with them now and they tell me that other sites on their servers are experiencing the same due to issues at their end. I apologise for taking up your time for something that was not caused by wordpress. Thank you for your help once again.

Hello Kmessinger, I try to access my site via the admin log in page, and when I put my username and password in, I get shown a page that says that the password is wrong. I reset the password and still I get a screen that says that the username and password is wrong.

I asked a man in India who advertised that he can set up wordpress websites to work on it for me, which he did, but had to reload the theme twice before it would work, and then it would only work intermittently. I was still able to log in while he was working on it, but last night an automatic update occurred and now I can’t get into the site.
