I’m afraid I gave up. This is either my fault, in which case it doesn’t matter, or it’s systemic with Duplicator on Docker, in which case it’s not my problem.
I’m moving to another hand-built solution for a WordPress site <> Docker Site using CI/CD. This doesn’t mean Duplicator isn’t great, because it is. It’s just not a great fit for this migration of mine.

I noticed the skip button being there and installed and used these free and great plug-ins to take care of Cookie communication and other info making sites compliant so that other important, huge sites would approve of doing business with us as well as making sure we wouldn’t be sued by various government bodies. To not use these is clearly optional, but I’m glad I installed and continue to use them.

I agree this slows down the web site considerably in the free version. Makes me uninterested in paying for anything from WPPOOL. Not how to build business.

Just a month later there is no WP Dark Mode settings > Tools > Reset Settings to be found. What there is WP Dark Mode > Tools > Reset Settings. Big difference because naturally you click on settings there and look for tools in there!

I changed archive from zip to daf, filtered out two themes I’m not using, ran and re-downloaded everything and unpack took 20 seconds tops. Go figure.

How was this resolved?

Thanks @jarnovos, that did indeed work. But does that mean my expectations that the described translated string should have worked were skewed? If so, how is that string used?

So to be clear the full original string with ID 579 in the .po is “Click to accept %s cookies and enable this content”, where the %s in the displayed message is the only part properly localised with the Swedish word “marknadsf?ring”.
The full translated string is “Klicka f?r att godk?nna %s cookies och aktivera detta inneh?ll” and is what I’d expect to be displayed as well rather than the English version.

@jarnovos, I did use your method, which solved the most of the issue. Thanks for your excellent help!
However, the string replacements in “We use %s for %s.” are not translated. I assume this is because they stem from elsewhere. For instance the string I cannot find “spam prevention”.

I’ve located this in the dBwp_cmplz_services.serviceType. What’s the best way to edit these strings? I can edit it right there, but maybe it will be overwritten at updates?

Thank you @xue28. But the 7.2.0 release page, as when reached from the plugin page when logged into WP, did state what I posted. Maybe just not yet updated? It’s indeed hard to imagine 7.1.1 to be compatible with WP 6.1 and 7.2.0 to end that. Or did something happen?

Update: When these issues later returned I nailed them down to an edit I had made to functions.php in my child theme. So possibly unrelated to WP Downgrade. Haven’t reactivated it though. WP Downgrade seems to be a great tool, but will downgrade on server using wp-cli instead.

I have the same issue when downgrading to 6.03 from 6.1.1. For me they disappeared once I had inactivated WP Downgrade. Note I already had automatic updates disabled.
