In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Lightbox position? The lightbox plug in that centers the image on the phone screen is
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/lightbox-plus/I am using the “dark” theme. It overflows horizontally and the navigation arrows seem difficult to use on a phone. That can probably be fixed with CSS or perhaps another theme selection but I don’t want to use that lightbox with the WPPA. In fact, I would love to also use the WPPA lightbox all over the site with regular media library contents. Is that even possible?

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Saving settingsThank you so much. I missed that setting… there are so MANY! Of course you included that… you thought of everything else.
Thanks for the reply! I still love and will continue to use it.
I have another question but I will add it separately.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Robots.txt problemGood to know… The issue was on google’s end but thank you very much for all of your insight.

In reply to: Robots.txt problemThanks! What I meant is – If you delete your robots.txt from the server, you will still get a result if you type in mysite.com/robots.txt and there is no physical file on the server… Apparently wordpress creates it on the fly?
It looks like this:User-agent: * Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /wp-includes/

In reply to: Robots.txt problemThanks for your help… Google is finally cooperating.
I “fetched” the robots.txt and index yesterday. It was showing the page was crawled this morning and the correct robots.txt file is showing under health. But the sitemap list continued to report the same ugly error message. Deleted and resubmitted the sitemap and everything is reporting correctly.
I do have a question though … you said to delete the robots.txt file… doesn’t WordPress generate a dynamic robots.txt file if there is no physical file on the server?

In reply to: Robots.txt problemKrishna, Yes I reviewed that page earlier… And when I went into “haalth” it shows the text of robots.txt file that Google thinks I have and it disallows everything and it says I have “severe: health problems since all of my pages are blocked. i submitted the robots.txt file to the fetch tool so I hope it fetches. I went to their webmaster forums and I guess it is not uncommon for google to ignore changes.
mohammaddx, what does test relate plugins mean? Is there something I can test?
Thanks for the help everyone. It is greatly appreciated.

In reply to: Robots.txt problemThanks for the feedback about the old site/rich snippets. I hope you are right and things will just ease on over. I submitted the robots file and the index in “fetch as google” It shows the new and correct robots file contents in the “success!” link. However, Google tools still says all of the pages on my site are currently blocked. I have resubmitted the sitemap several times. It claims there are 29 pages blocked and a total of 116 errors. all related to the robots file. I had the wordpress “reading” setting enabled to discourage agents while I was working on it while in a subfolder. I’ve replaced existing sites before and never had this type of error issue. Oh Well… Perhaps I need to practice patience.

In reply to: Robots.txt problemThanks very much for responding!
my site
I’ve been searching through the google webmaster forums and this seems to be a common problem. Googles says it crawled but might still be holding a chace. I went into the tools and used the fetch as google for both the robots file and for the main site. Google shows 29 pages submitted and 116 errors/blocked by the robots file. Says it was last checked this morning. My old site which was a joomla site is showing in Google’s search results… I converted over to wordpress last week. I use wordpress on other sites and even the same theme and have compared settings to those sites and still can’t figure out the issue.Forum: Themes and Templates

In reply to: Restricting users to seeing only comments on their posts in adminThank YOU!!!
Thanks for the tip. The permissions were set at 755 and wordpress reported that the permalink structure was updated each time. I chmod the file to 777 and it finally has something in it and it works. What permission setting is good to ensure the file is secure again? 644?
Regarding user error. I have also deleted many things by mistake in the past but this is a weird situation. It was instantaneous after editing the htaccess. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to delete a wordpress installation via FTP but it doesn’t happen in a few seconds. I just enabled filezilla logging – didn’t have it set up before but since the program was open the recent activity was listed and there is nothing to explain the weird behavior.

In reply to: Can't get past enabling multisites in configI’d like to give an update on this situation in case anyone else has the same issue.
I deleted both the sample file and my config file and uploaded a new sample config. Followed the steps in my browser to re-enter the database information and generate a new config file – then I went to my server cpanel and used the online code editor to add the line needed to enable the network setup. Site is loading fine now and the menu item is visible.
I have NEVER had a problem with editing php files through filezilla and notepad2 but for some reason it did not work this time around.
