I have tried import/export across to the test site but unfortunately because of the nature of my site is it built using 117 widgets all of which do not come across.

If I turned live into a network would I lose the widgets and which documentation should I follow?

My live installation is all in root so there are no subfolders.

Which document should I be following in order to this? I used ‘Create a Network‘ to create the new multisite version as a test.

Is it Migrating Multiple Blogs into WordPress 3.0 Multisite or is some other routine? Five minutes sounds reaaly quick!

Thank you for your reply.

I set preload to 1900 seconds, turned the cache on and off and then did a manual preload so that should synchronise with a 2 minute gap between the normal cache and the preload if I understand this.

I have added a permanent redirection which gets round the problem but not sure why a page https://www.mysite.com/author/username exists and how to get rid of it.

I have reduced it to 2 spaces by changing

<?php $insert = ' ';

to

<?php $insert = '';

but this still leaves 2 spaces instead of one before the wp_title.

Thank you – that adds a space after the wp_title but there are still 3 spaces appearing before the title.

However, for a page where for example the wp_title is ‘Tax’ the following is produced:

<meta name=”description” content=”Continually updated to collate the latest Taxnews from across across the accountancy profession.”>

There are 3 spaces before wp_title and none afterwards?
