    Update 2

The Theme editor/ Customiser has several serious issues which make it impossible to make the necessary changes in real time.

    – not connecting to the blog summary
    – changing the position of the logo and site title
    – changing the size of the slider
    – duplicating the menus bar with every menu change
    – not responding to the selected options

Insterestingly, they seem to go away after 24 hrs or so. Then the new issues appear.

Is anyone working on fixing those issues?….

that would be great. I’m working on updating my website with a new theme to a very tight deadline and not being able to see the changes for 24 hrs is really, really BAD.

    Can someone please help?

    thanks

    UPDATE

it looks like Customiser has even more gitches….it freezes up, doesn’t update or save at random, plus several others (I’ve lost count).

When I installed your plugin I did have a Libsyn hosting account and did not have any other podcasting plugins or any plugin with the word “podcast” in it. I did not have anything else in my WP that had any link to “feed”.

So when I uninstalled the plugin, and my page was still blocked with that error message – the cause WAS the Libsyn plugin. I could not wait for days until I get a response on this forum, and my emails for URGENT help to your support remained unanswered for – you guessed it – a week (just like in this post).

I immediately troubleshooted the error with my website host – to no evail, and the only remedy was to reinstall the website from backup.

I have since closed my Libsyn account as your level of support is inadequate for my needs and moved my podcast to BluBrry where they monitor customer emails 24/7 and offer a call option for urgent issues. What Libsyn lacks to understand is that with everything live online TIME is of essence and the responsive, high quality customer support is paramount. Attending to customer emails (with no other contact option available) in 3 – 5 days is simply not good enough.

So thank you for offer, however it is too little too late. My podcast is happily up and running with BluBrry.

    Hi Chris

That would be really good as pageviews are a much higher number than unique visitors, and if taken out of contetext can be misleading. I would argue that pageviews don’t properly reflect the website traffic, and if anything I see them as inflated figures.

I know that advertisaer use pageviews to impress their (potential) clients when showing the benefits of online advertising (on their site) as they did to me. I didn’t like it, as to me these are misleading figures when (often) taken out of context and not explained. And many people actually take them as the number of visitors.

One visitor can have 20 pageviews, then come back to the website and have another 20 pageviews (or more). So that’s 40 pageviews+ and only one visitor.

I’m looking forward to your plugin showing unique and repeated visitors – the real measure of website traffic. ??

    Hi Caleb

    thank you for your reply.

I much appreciate the great level of detail, however as I’m not a developer and my back-end knowledge of site hosting, coding, etc is very limited, I can take it only as is and pass on to my host asking for explanation.

I do understand the issue however, and will discuss it further with the host. If your analysis is correct, I would be very surprised I must say, as my host is one of the best out there (if not THE best), recommended by WordPress, with many years of experience and a high level of technical knoweldge. This sort of loophole in website security would be very serious if they guarantee that an IP is blocked while actually it isn’t.

So I will check. I appreciate your reply and of course I’m glad that I do have Wordfence. ??

by the way, did you get all those technical details from my site just by inspecting elements? I would prefer not to post them on a public forum… there is too much information.

could you please delete that second post, thanks. ??

    Hi
    thanks for your reply.

Well, it is actually necessary as the plugin does not let me change the settings (they are blocked).

I’m not a developer – could you explain please where exactly do I need to insert this snippet? or change the file permissions?

    many thanks ??

    Hi Chris

thanks – I checked in my account comparing sessions and pageviews – you are right. It shows 21 sessions/55 pageviews.

thanks again for your prompt reply ??

    Hi

    thank you for your reply.

I was able to update my .htaccess file with the appropriate script provided by my web host, so don’t need to use the app.

    thanks
    Anna

well Rinku – your plugin has actually stuffed up my caching moving the rating from high B to C with several new issues that were not there before.

    what the….?????

    I’m uninstalling it.

IN fact, your plugin has further complicated my caching issue, as now (as shown on pingdom) is asking me to change the query strings on about 20 files.

I don’t know how to do that so have deactivated the plugin.

    Any thoughts?

    HI

    1. How do I know if the plugin is working? how can I tell?
    2. Can I set the caching timeframes myself for specific file types?

    thanks

    thanks Jan for your reply.

please note that I did not ask for help to fix this theme, as I’m aware that commercial products are not supported here, but for people’s views whether (generically speaking) it is worth it and would be easy to fix those errors.

Once again, changing the theme will be a time consuming and a big job for me, (I’ve done it twice before) and so I’d like to explore any alternative options beforehand.

Figuratively speaking, if I can fixed a couple of screws I may not have to buy a whole new bookshelf ??

but perhaps in this case I may not have a choice.
