In reply to: WooCommerce Chelcout Terms and Conditions LinkHi WPyogi
I’ve already posted on their suggestions page but I doubt whether much will come of it – if anything, in the near future ! I certainly won’t be able to afford the fees required by Woo to post on their support forums.
I’ve posted it on this forum because previously I’ve found many solutions to WooCommerce in this excellent forum including from WC plugin developers.
Indeed their have been two previous posts on similar issues concerning the ‘Terms Link’ (different to my own) but these were not challenged by a moderator.
I hope you can see fit to let my request for help remain ?

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce PayPal settings, payment box description 'hidden'Ah!!
I must be getting tired of fighting WooCommerce and its poor documentation. I’d overlooked the fact that the DIV in question has an inline style used to hide it.
However, the question still remains – why have WooCommerce provided the means to add a description if it cannot be displayed ?

Presumably you have to set up shipping classes ?

In reply to: [Customizer for WooCommerce] How to use this plug-inHi Max,
I should have pointed out earlier that with the Woocommerce revision from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 came a change in the way that the tabs are generated. Prior to the update I had been using some custom actions to change the tab order. After the update these no longer worked.
Whether the problems I encountered were present before v2.0.2 I don’t recall.
Hope this is helpful

In reply to: [Customizer for WooCommerce] How to use this plug-inHi Max
Thanks for your reply.
Answers to your Qs:
Woocommerce: 2.0.3, previously tried on v2.0.1 before subsequent updates.
Plugins: Contact Form 7
Theme: Organico (SplashingPixels.comTabs: ‘Product Description’ & ‘Additional Information’
Plus ‘Add to cart’ button textI entered the alternative titles into the text fields provided and ‘Saved Customizations’. I’ve also assumed that the ‘?’ icons alongside the text fields are intended to be tool tips but these don’t function.
No change on the tabs (although the new ‘titles’ have been added to the H2 tag that appears under the active tab).
However the ‘Add to cart’ was changed to the desired.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: .maintenance file missingThanks for the replies. I’m embarrassed to admit that looking through my job notes, I discovered I had the answer all along – in fact I’d previously created a custom ‘maintenance’ page. I did this on a customer’s website two years ago and had not done any WordPress work since then. An age/memory problem I guess!
If anyone is interested my custom maintenance page was based on this series of articles: https://sivel.net/2009/06/wordpress-maintenance-mode-without-a-plugin/

In reply to: [White Label CMS] White Label CMS generating errors in WP 3.2.1I’ve not had the courtesy of a reply from the developers of WLCMS – I suggest you all do what I did – add a post on their website and ask them too. Perhaps they then might respond !
Here’s the URL https://www.videousermanuals.com/white-label-cms/However – once turning of WP debug mode, it appears to work just fine.

In reply to: [White Label CMS] White Label CMS generating errors in WP 3.2.1I’ve asked the developers why this is happening !

In reply to: Clarification on WordPress update ?Well – I started this thread because I was hopefully looking forward to a simpler upgrade path afforded by the incremental upgrade feature.
I’d forgotten one major problem – shared servers and the consequential file ownership issue!
The website I’m working on is hosted on a shared server so the 1-click automatic update isn’t going to work. So regretfully it’s back to manual upgrades !

In reply to: Clarification on WordPress update ?Esmi – excellent !
many thanks for being so helpfulForum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Clarification on WordPress update ?Hi Esmi,
Yes I understand that but as a WordPress beginner, rightly or wrongly I’ve understood from various blogs and other sources of info, that the only safe way to update the installation is – not to use the automatic update, but to use the process as described in ‘Upgrading WordPress Exended’.
Should one use auto update by default and only resort to manual update when problems occur ?
Hopefully you’ll put me right on this !
