Unfortunately the comments can’t be removed.

was thinking of an option to clean up the content of the cache files before writing them or before sending them to the client – I assume the comments do not have any function in the cache files?

I presume you’re using the dynamic-cached-content tag right at the top of the page?

Yes, I put that as the very first thing into my page, but the comments does not allow the start_session function to send headers since there is already output generated before.

Will try to hook something into wp-cache-phase1.php – or do you have any idea when you would release the next official version with the new “cache_init” hook?
