Hi Clayton,
I tried as you suggested and it doesn’t pull the info from the author meta. Also tried adding the feature image to the post and it shows as any other posts (still no text on front page).

From the theme customization that can be done trough the dashboard, you can assign a post to the front page but then, all it shows is that only post as any other.
