Sorry guys. When I thought I’d put something in the forum and it didn’t show up I figured I’d done it wrong and tried again. It didn’t appear, I couldn’t edit it, and as near as I could tell it was lost in space.
As far as support, I’m a bit confused… They have a forum, I’ve been told they ONLY do support through the forum, and I wasn’t aware I had to use some avenue other than the nextgen support forum to get support. I’m now aware and presume that for the paid plugin I’d go through their separate resource.
You can close this one or delete it or whatever. Hopefully, things will get handled in the other support channel.
Images are ordinary 1536x? jpgs. The galleries are created and images uploaded in the normal manner. I create the gallery, press “Add Files”, select one or more images from my local storage (these are all images that have been uploaded to other galleries on the live site, so they should work). Press “Start Upload” and off they go.
To make things MORE bizarre… For a while earlier today, I did NOT get the imagedate notices. BUT, while testing the problems I’m having with album covers – NO new galleries, no changes in images at all, just trying to select album cover and galleries in an existing album – I started getting dozens of notices again. This time, they’re this:
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$galdesc in C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery\products\photocrati_nextgen\modules\nextgen_gallery_display\package.module.nextgen_gallery_display.php on line 1154
SO, previously I got “imagedate” and now I’m getting “galdesc”…
As near as I can tell, they started displaying when I switched from the NextGEN Pro Grid album to the NextGEN Basic Compact Album. Same exact album, same exact galleries… Switched back TO the NextGEN Pro Grid Album – no notices. Switched back to the Basic Compact Album and the galdesc notices are back…
I don’t have a remote location at this point. I’m considering putting the plugins on the live website this weekend, but last time I did that (with the other plugin) I found out it would ONLY work in one place at a time. It was horrendously unproductive to have to activate and inactivate the plugins on either the local or remote machines every time I switched, so I need to be sure your plugins won’t have that same unfortunate limitation since development is local because making changes on the server site is equally unproductively slow…
I’m not sure if it’ll help, but it appears that the notices/errors only occur if I put more than one gallery in an album. If there’s only 1 gallery, no errors.
In Other Options/Image Options, I tried changing the default sort method for images, but it didn’t make any difference (I don’t know if it even alters how existing galleries are sorted).
