I think this could be something between Polylang and Sydney, or Polylang and Wp un-compatibility. When I deactivate my Polylang plugin, the site is not functionung, not loading https://snipboard.io/Rmzp8U.jpg

When Sydney Child is active the sydney slider is shown (https://snipboard.io/FT25hP.jpg), but when Sydney main theme is active the sydney slider is not shown (https://snipboard.io/tNnJZX.jpg).

Everything is up to date, wp (version 6.6), elementor, polylang, other plugins.

I switched to main theme for you to check it.

Main language is Slovenian. The slider is not visible. Also when going on sites subpages (also in primary language), you can not change the language, there is not flag.

In my Sydney-Child functions.php I have only one if code;

I am using Sydney Child theme and when using Child theme it does not translate the slider titles and button text. It does translate the menu text, logo etc., just not the slider titles and button text.

I found the file sydney/inc/slider.php in my cp, and the text that you mentioned (//Slider text; lines 26-46). Should I change the text in this file or should I register something (and how) in my Sydney Child files?

I found the problem. The problem was with the plugin Elementor Addon Components. I don′t know why, something probably changed after update in the plugin or plugin vs. Sydney theme coding and the problem with overlay and Z-indexing appeared. I disabled the plugin and the text is again overlayed as it should be. I enable the plugin, the Z-index doesn′t take affect to be overlayed.

Hmmm, there are many problems working with these plugins…

I still can not edit in elementor my 404 site…

Hmmm, I don`t know where this auto is set. Z-index value for heading “We act as…” that should be in front is set to 99 and the z-index value for the smaller headings in the white box are set to 9.

Thank you for getting back.

I tried changing to different values for z-index, cleared cache, browser history etc., but nothing helped.

I noticed that in my second column the background for the small rectangle is white and it changes on hover. When I change that to no color, than the text is visible.

Thank you for your answer and your time.

I did not edit this in Additional CSS. It was edited at the time of site creation and it worked as it should as:

• in Inner section there are two columns
• in each column there is a heading
• in the second column there is a white shaded rectangle
• the text in the first column was overlayed over the white shaded rectangle in second column
• until some updates the text was overlayed, now the text in the first column is behind the white shaded rectangle in second column.

I tried different variations in Elementor editor / Advanced / z-index but nothing seems to work.

So I think it could be elementor editor, plugin, theme smaller issue, because this changed in over the time due updating.

Thank you for your time and reply.

I tried temporarily switching to another theme and the site can be seen normaly. Also, I tested with disabling elementor and the site shows the same issue.

The site also shows in Sydney theme, but the problem is that I can not access the elementor edit when the plugin is active, I have to disable the plugin to be able to access the Elementor edit page, I edit the page and then I activate the 404 plugin again so the 404 site shows live.

I have the same issue on my other websites using Sydney theme and?Smart Custom 404 error page [404page]?plugin. (website 1, website 2, website 3).

I have the same problem over a year now and still there is no solution.

You can take a look of my tried solutions, that did not work at my threads (thread1, thread2, thread3) on this topic.

I hope there will be a solution for this one soon, or it would be better to disable sydney header slider and you make a new multilanguage header slider.
