In reply to: [BP xProfile WordPress User Sync] Duplicate First Name fieldsIf you can revert back to a clean version before you upgraded BP or this plugin and upgrade this plugin to v:0.5.3 which can be found in the revision logs for this plugin and (then) upgrade to BP 2.3 you should be fine. I had a similar issue. Then keep this plugin at v:0.5.3 until author has a chance to comb through issues caused by broken v:0.6 update that was reversed in v:0.6.1
Backups are king, never upgrade without backups. There are just too many factors that can change. This author is great at support but recent changes in all of the plugins associated will be a challenge to address.

In reply to: [BP xProfile WordPress User Sync] Problem with UpgradeThank you Christian,
I did go back to the backup so all is good. I appreciate what you were trying to do for multisite systems, all of my systems are setup multisite even if I’m not using them all for that purpose.
I always activate plugins on a site by site basis unless they are only meant for multisite root. There are less problems this way all together for the long haul. Everytime I have activated programs like buddypress or the like on a network basis there are always problems that can’t be fixed on a localized basis. For me it is standard best practice this way.
I hope you figure it out but if you end up keeping it or forcing it on a site by site basis I think you will be OK.
What other work do you do? I’d love to keep in touch. We’re building out systems on a massive level and always looking for good talent!
Have a great day/night! ??

In reply to: [BP xProfile WordPress User Sync] Problem with UpgradeYes, I have always activated the plugin on a site by site basis.
In the mean time if anyone upgrades without backing up their going to be in for a long struggle when adding new members if they don’t know how to access their databases. I figure I got lucky ??
It is running perfectly now, I just tested by adding two new users and everything played as expected.
I wish I had more data for you but I was more focused on fixing than recording once I figured out what was happening.
No rest for the weary eh! ??
Thanks for all your help, this is a vital plugin for us. I’ll reach out to you on other fronts later…

In reply to: [BP xProfile WordPress User Sync] Problem with UpgradeOK, downgrading the plugin created more problems.
Upon re-activation of 0.5.3 it gave me a critical error. When I went into the database the plugin had created multiple ‘first_name’ & ‘last_name’ xProfile data fields.
I restored my site to a previous backup point prior to upgrading this plugin so I’m OK but something is broken in your upgrade. Sorry ??

In reply to: [BuddyPress Social Icons] Great plugin – Important feature requestIs there any chance you’re still supporting your plugin?
We need to add the attribute: target=”_blank” to all links so they open in a new window/tab and we’re having a hard time finding where to do that.
Thanks!

In reply to: [bbPress Unread Posts v2] New comments within forum topicsYes, that is not happening on my site. It is only working for new topics and for forum base (indicating a new topic within the forum). Not for reply’s to topic posts.

In reply to: [bbPress Unread Posts v2] New comments within forum topicsThat would be great!
This plugin has some features you might want to fork, it has not gotten much support and there might be some elements that would be valuable to others too. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/bbpress-new-topics/Thanks for your replies, it’s nice to keep updated!

In reply to: [Networks for WordPress] I would not recommend installing this pluginNo, I have my own in-house developer that is managing any issues for us. The problem at this point is knowing what is related to this plugin and what isn’t. Our system is currently running 14 Networks and 97 sites without any major problems. The main issues we run into is when a plugin developer writes a plugin that has global tables. When this occurs we just need to make sure our settings reflect the best practices for all sites and then we hide the ability to to access or change the settings on a site by site basis.
