In reply to: Question for IpstenuThank you Ipstenu,
I normally do but since my question was directed to a post you made three years ago and I could see you were still active I wanted to cut to the chase. I appreciate you taking the time to help me…
I have tried that and don’t like it because it auto adds all users to the main network and I have a multi-network multisite.
Do you know if there is a way to disable the auto-add feature in that plugin? I tried to contact the dev but it doesn’t look like it’s supported much.
You didn’t answer my two questions ?? I’m looking for an option that isn’t filled with things I don’t need.
Thoughts?

In reply to: [BP Group Hierarchy] Problems after upgrading buddypress to v2.1Hello Chris,
I am experiencing the same thing but the updates you are referring to are now included in BP 2.1.1 so the ‘fix’ isn’t a fix anymore ??
Is there anything else I can look into?
This is what makes upgrading so crazy. We did a master backup (some time ago) before we updated and we checked (so many things) it wasn’t funny. Now all of a sudden we noticed this issue.
What would be nice is if someone could give Hierarchy a nice work-through. We have always loved using it and now not sure about it’s future…
Hope to hear some good news soon!

In reply to: [Networks for WordPress] Two Networks on the Same Domain?Hello Duke, If I understand you correctly you want to setup one of your sub-sites as it’s own network. This is referred to as nested sub-domains and it is very difficult. We attempted this but it unleashed a can of worms that we didn’t have the time or patience to resolve and you can’t even attempt to set something up like this unless you’re on a Dedicated Server with some very rare php modules activated (and stable themselves).
You can however setup a second, third, forth, etc… Network as long as you map the domain’s to your install. e.g. mysite.com | myothersite.com | anotherdomain.com | mycooldomain.com | myclientsdomain.com etc…
The settings under Networks for WordPress are much more extensive than WP Multi Networks which can make the process more robust or fragile. Learning how to use all of the settings is the primary key to resolving successful networks to your install. We also use Buddypress for Networks by BuddyDev with this for multiple independent social communities https://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-multi-network/
I hope this helps!

In reply to: [Networks for WordPress] I would not recommend installing this pluginWhat specific issues are you referring to? I have been using this with WP 4.1 and Buddypress for Networks by BuddyDev https://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-multi-network/ with multiblog enabled and I now have 12 stable networks with about 67 websites total running on the one WP install. So far we have not encountered any major problems. Most problems are resolved on the plugin level. If the author has abandoned this plugin I will attempt to contact and possibly start supporting.

In reply to: [Export User Data] User ID# – UrgentNo, No! That sounds great!
If I’m hearing you correctly, If I export users from one database and import them into another they will be in essence ‘added’ to the existing users, not replacing any… Is this correct?
What I don’t want to do is import them into my network which already has many users and the existing users get overwritten.
So when I import the new users they will all be assigned a new user ID. Yes?
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly!

In reply to: [Plugin Organizer] Settings not savingThanks for your quick reply Jeff, I hope you’re having a great day…
When I rearrange the order of the plugins they do not stay in the order I put them.
I select them all and then under Bulk Actions select Save Plugin Load Order, it just goes right back to what it was previously.
Selective Plugin Loading: Enabled
Selective Mobile Plugin Loading: Disabled
Admin Areas: Disabled
Fuzzy: Enabled
Ignore URL Protocol: Disabled
Ignore URL Arguments: Disabled
Only allow network admins to change plugin load order? Yes
MU plugin file: Is in mu-plugins folder…What am I missing???
Hello? Anyone! ??
