In reply to: Permalink custom structure not respectedHello WP Burn,
To be more precise, if in the google toolbar, you put site:barcelonelowcost.com (which is my domain name), you will see all the weird urls I am talking about above (they are not like it is set in the wp custom permalink). It still takes you to the post tho.
On the other hand (and i do not know if it is related or not), on Google webmaster, it shows some errors for the following urls:
https://www.barcelonelowcost.com/comments/feed
https://www.barcelonelowcost.com/category/agenda-culturel-2012/feed
https://www.barcelonelowcost.com/tag/agenda-culturel-2012/www.openhouseworldwide.com
https://www.barcelonelowcost.com/category/art/feed
https://www.barcelonelowcost.com/category/concert
https://www.barcelonelowcost.com/2012/www.openhouseworldwide.com
https://www.barcelonelowcost.com/2012/www.openhouseworldwide.comand another few. These urls do not exist!? does it have to do with the sitemap or with the permalinks? when I check my posts individually, the permalinks show properly.
Thanks for your help again.
Cheers,
Emmanuelle

In reply to: Permalink custom structure not respectedHello WP Bum,
Thanks for your quick answer. Are you telling me to check the default value in the permalink menu? I don’t want to: first, because most of my posts are imported from blogger and i want to keep the same parmalink structure i had in blogger (otherwise it might create a problem with the 3013 redirect, no?); second, i like that structure. For my blog topic, I think it’s important to see the year and the month before the name of the post.
What i don’t understand is that wp creates permalinks structure of its own, e.g. …tag/name tag, or confusing tags with category when I have no category at the moment, or …/uncategorized or …/page/4
there is no logic. Thanks for your help again.
Cheers,
Emmanuelle

In reply to: questions about moving blogger blog to wordpressHello Shelly,
I get back to you because I did the migration over a month ago and my WP blog does not show at all in the search results. For instance, I put in the Google toolbar “Barcelone low cost” and it does not show. it should, it’s my domain name! before, with blogger, doing this, I came almost first in the search result.
What could be the reason?
Thank you for your help.
Cheers,

In reply to: my blog does not show in search resultsThank you for your instant answer. I know the url shows when you insert it in the toolbar. but when you write “barcelone low cost” in google toolbar, it does not show. When i was on blogger, it showed on the first page of the search results in the 5 first results without working at all on the SEO. Since I am on WP, my blog has disappeared. And Yes, working on the SEO is on the top of my to do list.
Cheers,
Emmanuelle

In reply to: questions about moving blogger blog to wordpressHello Shelly,
thanks a lot for your straight forward answer.I made a mistake in taping: i did not create a feedburner account for the blogger blog so I have no work to do there. Well, I am almost done with the post migration process, good news!
Thank you again.

In reply to: Image urls after importingWell, I carried out the import process via wordpress (control panel/tools/import). And that’s it. My posts were all imported correctly except for the tags: wordpress interpreted them as if they were categories. I changed that manually post by post. Is there something that i did not do?
Cheers,
Emmanuelle
