Are you able to share the steps you’ve taken for that?

In terms of moving the site, I took backups and then copied the entire ‘public_html’ folder into a subfolder ‘public_html/sitename/’ and then created a domain pointer to the subfolder. This is so I can host more than one domain on the same server (one in each subfolder). I also updated the db credentials, come to think if it I may have also updated the db prefix at the same time which now that I mention it, could use some additional verification.

Do you have any URL options visible under Settings -> Media? (Not everyone does)

No, just the Image Sizes and Uploading Files sections.

Does the new URL show correctly under Settings -> General?

The URL and Site Address did not change because I used a pointer at the domain level. They are both just https://site.com.

Tonight I created a new post and uploaded a new image as part of it, and then assigned it as the featured image and it worked just fine. I also tried assigning the newly uploaded image to an existing post and that worked too… So the problem is isolated to using an existing media image on an existing post. I don’t have that many posts, it may be easier to just delete all the images and re-upload them, but it would be nice to know the cause.
