Wow…that little tip did wonders to get this plugin working. Thank you! Yes, it’s stupid that this is editable if it kills the plugin’s functionality. Oh well.
When I’ve uploaded JPGs, they show up in the media gallery as attached to the post with the title I enter in my test. I then have to go to the post and manually insert the image from the media gallery. Kinda of a pain, but it’s working.
Doesn’t work for me, either. I keep getting default error upon submitting an image.
I’m getting the same thing (using WP 3.4.1). I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, checked paths, checked permissions, checked WP settings…nothing will get rid of the default error message. Shame because this seems like a cool, simple plugin.
Is the ability to change the transition (fade or slide) something you can only do with a commercial skin? There’s no asterisk next to that option, so it looks like this is possible to change in the free skin BUT I’m unable to get this option to change on the front end. The gallery uses the slide option no matter which I choose.

Nobody’s got any ideas? I’ve gone through and individually deactivated each of the 8 plugins I’m running but nothing has changed. I’d love some input.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Custom Login] Issue with font colorI, too, would like to be able to turn off the drop shadow appearing beneath the “Register” and “Lost Your Password?” text.
I’d also like to be able to deactivate the alt text that comes up saying “Are you lost?” and “Password Lost and Found” when I hover over the back to site and password recovery links.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In reply to: Server Not Found – URL is changing.Oh yeah, and when I go to the site and add the director that I’m building the site in, in Firefox nothing happens…it just spins and says Connecting. In Safari, I get a Safari can’t find the server. I know it’s because of the missing “www.” But, in Safari, when I add it to the URL, it disappears as soon as I hit return and I get the error.
Yup, that did it. I guess if you’ve got multiple galleries on your site, they’d all better have the same number of columns, then.
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks are Breaking My SiteBefore I hit resolved, let me clear up what the error was (totally my fault).
Instead of putting the full path for my images (e.g.; https://www.martyrdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/filename.jpg), I was using shortened paths (i.e.; /wp-content/uploads/2011/02/filename.jpg), but had forgotten to put the “/” in front of a couple paths, and that was breaking things. I’m still not sure why it affected the NextGen galleries, but they popped into place when I corrected the paths. Also, not quite sure why the info in the sidebar of my Contact page wasn’t showing up, but it’s OK now. The more I learn, the less I know it seems at times. Thanks again for making me think this through.

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks are Breaking My SiteThank you so much. You got me studying my image paths and it turns out that was the problem after all. I had some paths that were missing the “/” in front of them, and that was causing the breakage. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks are Breaking My SiteI wish it were that simple. The paths are solid because the site works fine until I turn on Pretty Permalinks. When I have the site set to Ugly Permalinks, all images load. So, the paths are fine.
Go to the Herbie Hancock blog post:
https://www.martyrosamond.com/2010/herbie-hancocks-70th-birthday/
and you’ll see the NextGen gallery at the bottom is broken, too.
[nggallery id=3]
That’s supposed to be a nice LightView gallery down there.

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks are Breaking My SiteSomething else strange, and this is the first thing I’ve noticed that’s broken on one of the sites but not the other.
martyrosamond.com/contact
martyrdesign.com/contact
The “More of My Work” sidebar widget shows up on martyrdesign.com. I just checked, the Contact page on martyrosamond.com is set to have the More of My Work sidebar widget show up, but it’s not there.

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks are Breaking My SiteThe martyrosamond.com site is a clone of martyrdesign.com that I did today. But, I double checked just now to make sure and they are there.
Is it a root folder permissions thing? What should the root (/) directory be? Right now it’s set to xxx. What should my site directory be set to?
