Can’t be that hard?

I’ve already posted several queries and all answers go beyond my capacity. I am not a designer or a programmer. I know basic HTML and basic CSS. I followed the instructions to download and install the tool, and used the default templates to try to get wordpress to work within my template. That’s how I got it to work. I would love to learn how to do this, but most answers are beyond me.

Can anybody help?

I am brand new to blogs and coding, and am not very good at it. I would love to learn and do it myself. However, everythign I ready in teh installation files, even answers to my questions, seem to pre-suppose some knowledge/familiarity of wordpress. So every answer results in more questions. Even the tutorials are obscure to me. Is there a “wordpress for dummies” tutorial available somewhere? Everyone here is so kind to help, but I think I need to know more before I can even ask.

I copied the wp-config file to a new URL, and installed all the file, but it didn’t work.

It says: Error establishing a database connection!

Any ideas?

This stuff is really hard. I can’t seem to find a comprehensive tutorial to help me with. The table is broken, I don’t know how to automatically link the URL’s.

Any ideas? Either for a tutorial, or for how to fix this problem?

I modified it using the original template and the site template, but it’s still all wacky. Could it be because of the div tags?

Also, any indeas on the excerpt tag for the home page?
