In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Need helpOk after testing it more, I found what seems to be a bug from what I can tell. Everything works well outside of the pagination I have at the bottom. If I select a page it messes with the tags at the top. Like for example, I may select page 3 and it will show the 2020 tag, but the 2019 tag disappeared. Then I select page 1 again to go back. And now only the 2019 tag shows. Basically, the only time all the tags seem to be there is when I am on the initial main page.

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Need helpWell, I ran into another problem using this method. I noticed the lightbox is no longer working unless you click on one of the tags (years) first.Actually you can ignore that, I switched to using Photonic and that works just fine.

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Need helpThank you! That’s exactly what I needed. I do happen to have another question, it’s about using minimum. I noticed the tags are still showing up despite there not being any images within them (within the category). Is it because there are images in it outside of the category? If there is no way around this, it’s all good. Not really a big problem.

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Need helpSo just a little bit more info. I have been messing around and I have found only tax_querys specifically are not accounting for the current category. If I use attachment_tag, it works fine. But of course I would prefer it the other way so I can have the images show up when the page loads.

In reply to: [Media Library Folders] Pretty good, but …Yes, You can select the files as you normally would in WordPress, that is a given. However, the free version of this plugin adds no functionality in that regard to bring over the folders into the post and pages which I imagine is what most people are using this plugin for. It’s a hassle to have to scroll through a bunch of files when trying to insert it into the post.
The only reason I didn’t give this a lower rating is because I find just the uploading portion of it useful and I don’t find $30 too expensive.
A suggestion I have would be to include that in the free version as well and find some other way to make a pro version. I would be much happier with it if, for example, it had a limit on upload size. Like free version has an upload limit of 10mb per file. Sure it means a person might need an FTP client to upload and do the sync thing with larger files, but at least the organization exists within pages and posts too. People who want more convenience can buy pro. It’s probably not the best solution, and you probably could come up with something better.
A lot of your 1-star reviews is because of this issue. Most people grab this plugin to specifically do what you have removed in the free version. It would be like downloading a gallery plugin only to realize the free version only allows you to create the gallery but not actually display it in a post or page.
Ultimately though, I think you are fine either way. It’s a good plugin. I get it can be tough to figure out how to go about doing the free version vs the pro version.
Oh, one last suggestion I would make. I notice there is like this huge fuss with 1-star ratings. It’s fine to explain that 1-star ratings can be hurtful, but I think one should really consider why these 1-star ratings exist. I think it’s very bad to try and tell people their opinion on something is bad or wrong regardless of the reason they hold that opinion. It’s always better to try and fix the problem they have rather than being argumentative about the rating they gave.

There is a premium plugin that CodeBard develops that allows it. According to what I have read about this specific free plugin is that it’s supposed to be very basic so others can build their own plugins on top of this one. So you can pick and choose.Well, at least that is their explanation. I think it’s more obviously about money.
