I might have fixed it. Since I was becoming angry my site looking generally bad – not only your social media widget – I have added another theme on Monday. Yesterday, I have activated the new theme as it was, and went back to storefront anyway.

guess what:
– the social media icons were displayed as configured (horizontally)
– all other reendering issues seem to be gone too, still need to check that but this is out of scope for our chat here.

So it might be that over time, there was kind of a caching or similar problem of the whole theme (storefront) that messed the site.

I did today another interesting observation that might be of interest for you.

this is how my main page is rendered if I am logged in to WordPress / Wocommerce and I am there in the Design/StoreFront Theme Editor:

and guess how the social media icons of your plugin are rendered?

as they should be actually. But not if you access the site without being logged in. Btw: tested that with Brave, Chrome, Safari. Everywhere the same.

sorry forgot to mention:
Already tried to set it to vertically, save, drop cache, horizontally, save, drop cache. No change.

Could it be, that this is due to a problem with the theme ‘storefront’ than your plugin? I’m thinking out loud, because:

This is the main page. These countries were usually rendered first horizontally too, let’s say usually 3-4 countries before the next line vertically was added. This is not your plugin thing, but broken too.

I asked myself, if there are two times problems with rendering vertically instead of horizontally ; can’t be randomly?

well, I’m curious, let’s see. Please see my bullet #3 , where I was sayin’ that I have the setting horizontally, but it is reendering vertically.

I have deleted the widget your plugins generates. No change.
I have removed/readded the widget from my design. No change.
I have regenerated the widget. No change.

any idea? would be appreciated. thank you
