In reply to: [File Manager] Uploads folder is not writableHello
This is an update to clarify that it turns out that the issue I had reported in this thread originates with the plugin Library File Manager (https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/file-manager/), which I have now uninstalled. Thank you to Rajeev from WP File Manager Plugin Support for his assistance in identifying the source of the issue.

In reply to: Hit counter plugin with PHP update compatibility@threadi Thanks for your contribution. I am hoping to learn from a few personal experiences, as I am concerned about taking up too much time with trial-and-error attempts, given my other commitments.

In reply to: [WP Accessibility Helper (WAH)] Conflict with landing pageThank you, Alex. I am not a developer by profession, so I do not follow you, sorry.
Could you please explain:
1. what you mean by “your body tag” and where I am to locate it;
2. which of the paragraphs of code at the link you have provided is needed and whether I should edit;
and
3. where I should be including the code.
I had mentioned previously that I have an area in the template for the landing page that allows me to include Custom CSS. Is this an area where I could add relevant code to resolve the issue specifically for the landing page and if so, how?
I look forward to moving forward.

In reply to: [WP Accessibility Helper (WAH)] Conflict with landing page@vol4ikman Thanks for considering the request.
1. The landing page URL is https://medstats.mvm.ed.ac.uk/go/main-landing-page/ .
2. How can I verify if my landing page has “get_header(); + get_footer(); functions?”
3. I used the plugin Landing Pages by Inbound Now to create my landing page. However, yesterday I experimented with the alternative plugin Landing Pages by PluginOps and found (as per my previous message) that the display problem recurred.
4. I do not have error logs or console.log reports to offer. Previewing the display issue at the link I have provided will hopefully help you.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [File Manager] Uploads folder is not writable@tempuserkdkz Are you offering a suggestion specifically about how to address the error message I have reported? I am sorry that I am having difficulty implementing what you are suggesting, as I do not follow you. For example, your reference to line 82 appears to apply to line 84. Also, you have not indicated what file you have taken the code you have shared from. Additionally, I do not know what you have in mind in your comment about checking the .htaccess file. Perhaps you are assuming that I should know automatically. That is not the case, however. I am not a software developer.

In reply to: [File Manager] Uploads folder is not writableHello
Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, there are two problems with the form that you have directed me to. Firstly, it does not provide an option to include a screenshot as an attachment. Secondly, it requests an order number, which I do not have.

In reply to: [Highlight Search Terms] Activation failureMany thanks for sharing your expertise, Rolf. I shall try to find some time in due course to focus on designing a widget.

In reply to: [Highlight Search Terms] Activation failureMany thanks for the above tip, Rolf. Do you know of any steps that would allow me to place the above tip close to the search box once and for all (so that it is on every page of my site where the search box appears)? Perhaps a widget would work. You may have an alternative or more precise suggestion, however.

In reply to: [Highlight Search Terms] Activation failureThank you, Rolf, for seeking to address the issue. I think that any misunderstanding about versions installed may have arisen from the fact that I have automated updates enabled for the plugin. I have clicked ‘Activate’ again and can confirm that the problem is not recurring, thank you.
I checked that the plugin was working through using a search for the term ‘variable view’ on my site. As “view” is a very popular term on my site, can you advise, please, on advice I could offer users on ensuring that the term ‘variable view’ is searched for rather than its component terms?

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Problem displaying H5P objectHello Andrew
Thank you for your expression of interest in my query. I have not heard back from the plugin author. However, I am happy to inform you that I have managed to resolve the problem I had reported and that the solution works with both the Class Editor and Page Builder. I had a look in the WordPress area managed by the H5P plugin where the image slider was stored and deleted a blank item that I had added when exploring the editorial features. I had not expected that simply clicking ‘Add item’ and not adding anything would have influenced the display of the uploaded object, but now I understand.
Best wishes

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Problem displaying H5P objectThaks for your message, Andrew. In the latter case, previewing displays the code [h5p id=”1″].

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Problem displaying H5P objectThat is indeed a possibility, Andrew, although I have lots of plugins installed, so I am keeping it on hold for now.
I have by now tried an alternative approach to using the tab ‘Insert H5P’ by using the Editor widget in Page Builder. This again allowed me to click the uploaded H5P file, leading to the code ‘[h5p id=”1″]’ appearing on the page in editor view. I then clicked the button ‘Done’ followed by the link ‘Preview Page’. Does this seem correct? (The outcome was a blank page, apart from the title that I had also chosen to include.)

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Problem displaying H5P objectThanks for these helpful remarks, Andrew. I am trying to keep the layout as simple as possible at the mo in order to see how the H5P plugin should work. I have reached out to the developer of this particular plugin with a view to ascertaining what is at the heart of the problem. As you suggest, the true issue may be independent of that of having installed the SiteOrigin page builder. I had initially assumed, however, that there might be a clash between different plug-ins which could explain the difficulty I was experiencing with code being displayed. I will wait to hear back from the H5P plugin developer before considering using a widget in this particular case.

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Problem displaying H5P objectMany thanks, Andrew, for your query. I don’t think that I want to use a widget to display the object. The object should ideally take up much of the display page. Currently, I am using the Classic Editor.
